Those nice men from Mossad

I just love this story and the current furore it has caused. It smacks of spy stories, but I am not so sure that Mossad would be quite so slapdash as the apparent assassins have been.

The headline about the boy Miliband made me chuckle, I doubt if he could get the bottom of his tea cup.

I would very much doubt that the boys from Mossad would have used British passports, looks like some sort of row between various raghead factions.

That was my first instinct on seeing this Mossad are not known to be so sloppy, could it be a cover up. and what better to throw the arab world off the scent then by blaming the Israelis or some of the countries involved in the creation of Israel.

Can't see how Fatah would have the gumption, let alone the werewithal, to send a team to the UAE to bump off a senior Hamas commander. Given the absence of current tension between Islamic Jihad and Hamas, and the involvement of a female agent with red hair, you'd have to say that the signs point rather strongly to a non-Arab outfit.

Since I doubt the UAE are handing out visas to Israelis, you can see why British & Irish IDs were used... especially bearing in mind that all of the identites used belong to current residents of, erm, Israel.

You still sure it's not Mossad?

;)

Mossad do have previous in using British passports, there was a story (possibly in the wake of Munich) that a Mossad hit squad did use British passports. However at the time the Israeli Ambassador apologised & promised it wouldn't happen again.

I agree with you on this I think it's likely to be warring Palestinian factions, wasn't there something similar a few years back with Abu Nidal, or whatever his name was?

What better way of throwing people off the scent by deliberately appearing to be sloppy thus making people think that its someone making a poor attempt to fit you up......

Definitely not Mossad.. if it was fair play, it obviously needed doing - how ever, this has the Iranians all over it.. trying to cause ruptions in the middle east - who hates the british more than the Irish - that's right, the Iranians.

Whoever did it - thanks a ****ing bunch for using British passports. The UAE government loves an excuse to completely overreact (it gives them something to do with their money) so I'm sure the calming effect that flashing a British passport previously had in times of trouble for Brits in Dubai/Abu Dhabi has now left the building.....

LOL

Anyone else bemused as to why the fuss is about the Israelis using British passports and not about the fact that somebody has been killed?

It's liking catching Ricky Otto after he did his post office job and prosecuting him for parking the get away car on double yellow lines.

G brown get cross saying UK passports are important documents.. yeah right Gordo, hence you hand em out to anyone

LOL

I care more about the fact that my favourite variety of Lynx Anti-Perspirant (Africa!!!) was sold out at Boots yesterday than the death of some Hamas ****heel.

The simple truth is that we will never know who did it.

The chances are it was Mossad, but it's also distinctly possible that it wasn't.

All theories could be correct:

Mossad did it, and were a bit careless. What better way to make it look like it wasn't you than by making people believe it wasn't because you wouldn't be that careless.

Mossad didn't do it and someone is trying to stitch up the Israelis.

As per Rusty, i'm not sure I care that a Hamas Commander (as the BBC called him) was killed. The fact that he is considered a Commander (and was there to buy weapons) tells me that Hamas is not a political organisation, but a terrorist organisation.

For more proof, have a look at this (don't look if you're at work):

Hamas

The biggest shock is if its a professional outfit they totally ignored the CCTV layout of a hotel they were studying also used 9 people more in a hit squad then is probably necessary

I believe the response from the Israeli government is "there is no evidence". That is an interesting denial. If indeed it is a denial.

This really reminds me of the weapons expert David Kelly over here who killed himself (honest guv) and it was amateur hour in the intelligence services.

Skill shortages every where these days !

I really don't think you'll find a skill shortage in the Israeli Intelligence Service or in their Armed Forces. Just ask your Arab pals.
