Theo Walcott

In all seriousness... why shouldn't we have a cheeky punt?! It's rumoured that Wenger wants to send him out on loan (here) and at least with us he would be GUARANTEED to play. We have a past track record with Gilbert, where we gave him a chance but also weren't mugs. We play the right style of football for Walcott and it's only down the road from Arsenal.

Come on T&B, this could be the greatest loan signing in the history of the club!!

I think his 20k a week wages might be a stumbling block and the fact that :

A) He played for england not so long ago
B) Would not want to come here in a million years
C) Could play for another premier club easy
D) This last arsenal loanee didnt even get a game
E) Tilly cant sign anyone from our league let alone premier league

Other than that go for it LOL

LOL! His appearance bonus would be more than the wages of most of the team put together!! God forbid we ever had to pay him a goal bonus!!!

I saw this & the exact same thought crossed my mind. :D
Maybe if we were still in the Championship it would be a go-er, but to be honest, I can't see Wenger wanting to risk Walcott against some of the more blood-thirsty defenders of L1!

He'd do whatever Wenger told him to do
C) Could play for another premier club easy
But at least he would feature week in week out, at a level that would boost his confidence and also take him out of the spotlight for a bit
D) This last arsenal loanee didnt even get a game
Yes he did

We signed Gilbert on loan from them... so why would it be so difficult?

Other than that go for it LOL

see above:thump:

If we don't get Walcott i'm cutting up my season card and emailing my disgust to ST, PB, RM, the Echo, my MP (whoever that is) and the CofE.

I would say that Fulham , Sunderland , Birmingham and wigan and Boro would have first dabs on him if he was sent out on loan , if he did go to a ccc side then every club would be busting a gut to sign him , so to even think that he'll come here is some what of a fantasy thought.

Go for it. And while we are dreaming, how about a big strong experienced defender not getting a game at the moment?

Are u serious? If he is going to go on Loan anywhere, he will go to a Championship side that can at least contribute to his wages. My guess would be Southampton or Watford.

PUBEY SEE BELOW..........

A) He played for england not so long ago
So

If he has played for england he will want to try and play again at some stage, and going out to a team in league 1 will not help.

B) Would not want to come here in a million years
He'd do whatever Wenger told him to do

Players have a right to say NO to going out on loan and seeing as gilbert got hardly any games its unlikely.

C) Could play for another premier club easy
But at least he would feature week in week out, at a level that would boost his confidence and also take him out of the spotlight for a bit

He would feature at most of the lower half premier sides in every match. Coming here would ruin morale. It would be like leaving a mansion for a bedsit down york road.

D) This last arsenal loanee didnt even get a game
Yes he did

Gilbert hardly played

E) Tilly cant sign anyone from our league let alone premier league

Gilbert is arsenal youth. Theo cost 10 million hardly the same...

Sorry mate but I cant think of a player less likely to join us one loan. Why the **** would Arsene Wenger tell him to come here on loan?

"Go to Southend Theo - You can play vs Cheltenham in an open stadium in a cold Friday night ......"
