Following the success of The Undateables, in which a camera crew and producer follow the fortunes and misfortunes of people with disabilities and facial disfigurement in finding romance, Channel 4 has announced the commissioning of a new series entitled The Undropables. A camera crew and producer will follow three men based in South East Essex named Chris, Michael and Paul, who, despite a seeming lack of ability, turn out week in and week out for a League Two football club.

Drop for who?

Straker for Barker? No thanks.
Would you rather Spicer for Timlin? Again, no thanks.

Smith/Bentley is the only real contender Id have thought.

Talking about TV shows, I heard that Joe Dunne is going on that game show hosted by Alexander Armstrong ..... can't remember the name though :whistling:

Something must be going on between Sturrock n Timlin.

Not only that he never gets dropped or substituted when having a mare he is also allowed to shout at other players when he makes a mistake.

When we got Timlin on loan last season he was fantastic. As soon as he signed permanently his form dipped but Grant was dropped ahead of him.

This season he has had more poor games than good.

I'm starting to think Di Canio was right after all and we did get a mediocre league 2 player.

Never liked Timlin when I've seen him play, was pitiful in the play off matches but according to some (who watch more often) he's the lynch pin on the midfield.

We finished fourth, they were champions yet you still questioned why PDC sold him to us?

For me he blows hot and cold, but more cold than hot. Great engine on him, never gives up, but he's not for me I'm afraid.

IMO Timlin is an average ( not meant as a derogatory term ) League 2 player.
Better than some , worse than others.
If we get out of this awful league we're in , then can't see him being a regular in League 1

Always felt that Timlin was brilliant until he signed his contract and his game just dropped several levels. He was awesome against Rotherham last year when we beat them 4-0 at theirs, and put in several other match winning performances around that time, but never saw him play the same again after he signed last Jan.

I think timlin is excellent at league 2 level. Has the odd bad game, but always gives it his all in harrying the opposition. We have far worse players, including all the midfield options on the bench.

I'm a Timlin fan, but we need some perspective here guys - happy to have a conversation regarding whether he should play but only when there's an alternative! Currently there isn't - as such we should be behind him 100%.

during the run Timlin was excellent when tam left he has lost that free roaming role he had thus a slight do in form

How often is this the case though? I remember a certain midfielder on loan who could be described exactly as you've said.
Good news was he did show his loan potential again.
Not going to mention names coz OBL scares me!

Timlin is a real leader in the middle of the park and someone I think we would seriously miss if got injured/suspended.

I only seem to post on here when you lot seem intent on slaughtering our players (or certain individuals) when in reality our start to the season has been pretty good considering where we were in September/October.

A few additions possibly and I think we will be back on the right track again! UTB

Jesus, you can tell we've lost a couple of games.

Indeed.

People are also very quick to forget that Timlin was thrown in to regular football at the start of the season with nothing even close to resembling a pre-season, and hasn't exactly had much of a break since. It's of little surprise that things are starting to catch up with him.

I'd be interested in who people would like to come in and replace Timlin? Leonard? Straker? Martin? Spicer? These seem to be our alternative Midfield options. And to be frank, even an out of sorts Timlin has more of an impact than these guys, possibly Martin aside).

The problem Timlin has had, is he often tries to do too much, and this normally by virtue of making up for others, Spicer, Woodyard etc. Once Laird & Tam had signed, we had two players capable of doing their own jobs and this freed Timlin up to concentrate on what he does best, winning the ball, harrying the opposition and creating opportunities. Yes he gives the ball away than most, of course he does, he sees the ball far more than any other player.

It's no surprise the anti Timlin comments come up again now laird and Tam are out of the starting XI, and once more Timlin is stretched trying to compensate for others whilst endeavouring to do his own role. I'd almost want Sturrock to drop him, and stick Spicer in alongside Woodyard tonight, just to illustrate what a big loss he would be those who use him as a scapgoat for our current mini slump, if I wasn't certain it would be so detrimental to the team.
