The Tilson out brigade

Members⭐🦐
will you now admit you know **** all about football and never spout utter bollox about our greatest ever manager?
Four league wins on the trot to go with his two promotions and two LDV finals. Yes we got relegated last season but I thought at the time that Tilly deserved the chance to learn from this and become a better manager, I think that this may be the case given the evidence of this season so far, the defence needed a shake up he shaked it, the midfield needed a tweak he tweaked it, we needed a good striker he got one
It was actually hilarious to read some of the anti-tilson stuff posted on this board after the brighton rsult, you know who you are especially a couple of individuals who only like to post when we lose. Long may tilly be our leader cos I tell you what we would be ****ed without him.

ha ha classic... sz, as soon as we lose, the tilson get it sorted threads, as soon as we win, the tilson out brigade get it sorted threads come out... :D

The point is that some of the comments early season were so absurdly over the top that people now feel justified in ridiculing those opinions.

Some people wanted Tilson out, that has been shown to be totally daft.

We may not stay in the top 6 but we arent the relegation guarantee that the doom mongers said we were.

At the time, the comments were not unjustified, managers have walked for less than what was happening 4 weeks ago...

It's a fair point J.

There's nothing worse for ****ing you off after losing a game than the knee-jerk over-reactions it brings from some about Tilson, his cluelessness, and his coming to the end of the road.

Then again, there's probably not much sweeter than celebrating a fourth win on the spin than by raising a proud middle-fingered salute to the mongers of doom who were desperate to point out our "slow-learning".

Well done Tilly and the boys! Again!

exactly.. let's just bask in the glory of 3rd place...

abebongo and harvey up front, and the midfield is possibly the best in the league..

let's just be measured in celebration.

Indeed lets just enjoy it instead of having a go at each other!

Onwards and upwards!!!

Yes they have, that doesnt make it right though.

let's just be measured in celebration.

That contradicts what you just said.

Its ok to call for the managers head with 1 win in 4, yet win 4 in a row and celebration has to be measured.

Surely we should have been measured in the criticism as well then....

A matter of opinion, that one. He's proved he's got it in the past, and he's proved it yet again. He more than deserved the show of faith he got from Ron Martin.

To be fair there is a slight difference.

To demand the sacking of a manager is to demand instant change. Diametrically opposed to this are those saying Steve should be manager for life. The non-reactionary members will be the ones saying that things may, or may not be going well, but it's the wrong time to make knee jerk changes. It is possible to bemoan the "Tilson out" brigade without believing him to be the new messiah.

Just like when we lost a couple of games, sacking Tilly wasn't the answer, we shouldn't go overboard after 4 league wins in a row. But we have got our manager for the next decade.

From next week, in an attempt to stop the knee jerking Tilly out/Tilly is a legend threads depending on the result. The Zone will be closed for 36 hours after a match so we can all start posting without all the emotion.

Just how dull would that be ?

maybe we all get out a bit more!

Totally agree with that...

And on that note, if we had the midfield last season we have now (Maher, Macca, Bailey, Gower, Black, Moussa), would we have finished in the bottom three?

Interesting thought. What you're really saying is would Bailey, Black and Moussa have made a difference ? I'm not so sure. It's certainly a great midfield and you can add Foran into the mix. Though the jury is still out on him I still think he has potential and there'll be times where he'll come on and turn a match. Who knows he may even break into the team and stay there.

Last season it was defensive frailties that cost us dearly. I think the turning point was shortly after Christmas, just when it looked like we may have turned a corner performance wise Sodje lost the plot (never recovered from the red card at Norwich), Prior was struggling with injury and we were effectively left with Clarke and Barrett in central defence, a combination that didn't work at the start of the season in this division.

I know you'll all say this is Barrett bashing again but there's no denying we look more solid with Richards, Clarke and a tall domineering keeper, with Barrett at LB, meaning that we have a chance to cover the mistakes when the 'I'm really Christian Ronaldo' red mist floats down again. Don't get me wrong I think he's doing great for us in that position.
