Scum News

The new "Dicky Dirt" I mean, I ask you, talk about plastic cockneys?
Half tempted to phone up a bomb-scare to Lakeside on Saturday morning (this is a joke in case the old Bill ever monitor this site!!!)

Hard to believe any self-respecting person can use phrases like that in adult conversation.
On the subject of mockneys, I've often wondered to what extent genuine Londoners used to use many of the naff phrases now associated with them. My parents and grandparents all from London and never resorted to phrases like 'Diamond Geezer' etc.
Suspect that the influence of TV and film had led to a caricature of cockney phrases being widely adopted by all sorts of people from outer suburbs of London in effort to give some spurious appearance of credibility.
