The poster formerly known as BoyWonder2 ⭐🦐
I’m the poster previously known as BoyWonder2 and now I’m the Southend United runner. I will be running the London Marathon on my 39th birthday (27th April) to raise vital funds for South East & Central Essex Mind.
As part of my fundraising, I shall be joining forces with Southend United in an initiative way to help towards my fundraising target.
With Southend United having just 18 league fixtures left of the 2024/2025 season, and sitting just 3 points outside of the playoffs, these remaining fixtures are huge as we aim to return to the football league once again.
As part of my training, I will be using these 18 (hopefully more if we get into the playoffs) fixtures to help me run different distances in my training. Using the points we pick up and the goals scored in our matches, this will determine a distance I run.
So, for example, if we win a match 2-1, I will run 3 miles for the total goals scored, 3 more miles for the points we pick up, and because we’ve won the game, I’ll double the distance. So, I’d run 12 miles. However, if we were to lose 2-1, I will only have to run 3 miles for the goals scored. If it finished 2-2, I’d run four miles for the goals scored and an extra one for the point we’ve picked up. I hope that makes sense.
How can you help? Well, I’m looking for 18 people to take one of our remaining fixtures. How many miles I run, is how many £’s you donate. You wouldn’t have to double it for a win, just the goals scored and points picked up. So a 2-1 win, would be just £6 donated to my fundraising page.
I’d love to share some of these miles with Southend United fans to, so please get in touch if you’re interested in joining me for this too. I’ll be reaching out to the club to see if some people there would be interested in joining in too. The aim would be to do the run before the next fixture. So the run from the Maidenhead game on the 8th will have to be completed before Halifax on the 11th.
Below are the remaining fixtures, so please let me know if you wish to take one:
The fixture away at Boston is TBC as well.
The link to donate too is:

I know lots of people have donated to the various fundraising for Southend United staff, SZ & player montages too, and things are difficult too, but any help for a Shrimper would be massively appreciated. For those that can take a fixture, would be good to buy you a beer before a game too if I can.
