The Role of Dean Austin

rlb999

We want 4 stands!
I think we've done quite well in the Tilson era at spotting youngsters either from the lower divisions, or from bigger clubs on loan. Is this due to Tilly / Brush, or Dean Austin as chief scout?

Austin was relatively low profile, but I reckon he may be missed around the place (until he returns as manager at some point).

I imagine a lot of it was due to Austin being he scout. How I imagine it being would be Austin looking at a target a couple of times and goes back with reports to Tilly and Brush, if they like what they hear then either Tilly or Brush goes along and watches for themselves.

Fortunately, we have replaced Austin, which Colin West as reserve team manager and I can't remember the name of the scout we have brought it.

I find it a little frustrating that Austin said he'd stay clear of Tilly's targets and it looks like Watford are signing Williamson from Wycombe, one of Tilly's targets.
