The Official 'Work Hurts' Thread

Slipperduke

The Camden Cad
I finally got to bed at 8am yesterday to snatch three hours of fitful sleep before a long car journey back to London. I spent the rest of the day trying to stave off a vicious hangover with Chinese food and water.

I really didn't want to have to get up this morning. I've got a 'to-do' list as long as my arm and no concentration whatsoever.

Anyone else finding the re-entry as difficult?

You lazy gits...

I'm one of the few that's been back since the 27th...

I am with you mate. Only four of us in the office - One of the woman has the raging camel and is not speaking other than to accept a cuppa, another woman has been in the toilets now for 20-25 mins and her son got in a ruck on NYE so she is in a mood and the boss is in a "Come on lets nail some deals" type push which is encourgaing but not ideal for the first day back.

This time last week I was just getting up........I hate work.

I've developed a blinding headache which I think is the result of looking at a computer screen for the first time in over a week

although the trains & tubes were still quiet which helped

There's nothing more irritating in this world than a chirpy ******* on a day like this. Thankfully, my office is suitably dour this morning.

And Smiffy, I feel for you mate!

I likened it to going to work on a Sunday this morning it was that quiet. Doesn't help that a) I work for one of the only offices up here who treat 2 Jan as a normal working day and b) the mrs is off until Monday. Still, my usual train wasn't running this morning so I managed to persuade her to give me a lift in!

Really cannot be bothered today. Damn the Deal or No Deal competition line/National Lottery/daughter's Premium Bonds for not coming up trumps with a nice few grand so I could have 2007 off

I finished my work 20 minutes ago....but wont end the working day till 1700 hrs.
I am now wondering whether to set some pointless tasks for my staff or spend the day surfing the net.

Today is a "normal" day back in the City, and I really can't be ar$ed. Have a load of things to catch up on, but I can't be bothered. Maybe after lunch things will be better...

Not back until 2pm this afternoon but still cannot find the self motivation to get myself ready for all the crap I know I'm going to walk back into

As much as I don't want to take it out on the staff the first one that wishes me a Happy New Year is going to get short shrift and probably some really unimportant crappy job to do.
Still, only 357 days to go and we can do it all again.

In that case, can I suggest

Make one out to me, preferably for a large sum of money.
