The Office

Loved the ending to 'The Office'. Bit of an old romantic at heart and it was great to see Tim and Dawn finally get it together. I've been in a similar situation, so it had a bit more meaning for me.

Other than that, I thought the 2 programmes finished the series off well and I'm glad Gervais did them. Very funny bloke and if anyone wants to hear more of him, he does a radio show on Saturday dinnertime with the co-writer of the Office, Stephen Merchant (also very funny) on XFM (104.9).

Anyway... thoughts on the Office?

Loved The Office, i thought it was an amazing series and it ended at just the right time.

I always thought that Tim and Dawn would get together.

And just one question, did Stephen Merchant play Oggy in the series?

f**k f**k f**k,

Missed it tonight is it on BBC3 later or something ?

Yea, he was the "Ogg-Monster"

"Oggy, Oggy, Oggy..."

Have to say that I thought it was a little bit of a disapointment. I absolutely love The Office and watch both series on DVD over and over, however the two Christmas specials - whilst being perfectly watchable - didn't make me laugh out loud like the other episodes still do.

I think they made the right decision to stop when they did and I'm sure that in time The Office will stand alongside Fawlty Towers as one of the all time great comedies. For anyone who didn't get it for Christmas I highly recommend the Ricky Gervais stand-up DVD Animals - absolutely hilarious, just don't show it to the kids.

Well said pboreham, it was the end of an era.The one on Boxing Day was poor but last nights was brilliant, esecially when Brent found out his date was a fat woman

The ending was good too, when Dawn came back and when they had the photo at the end. Classic stuff and its a shame there won't be anymore, like Fawlty Towers really.
Oh well I've got Series 2 on DVD

OGGY OGGY OGGY!

I thought the last two episodes were superb. Great to see Tim and Dawn get together, and quite nice to see David find a woman too. I loved the bit where he told Finchy to f**k off.

It's a shame there will be no more but it will always be remembered.

I love Finchy, but it was good to see David finally say what he should of said many times before!

I think if Gervais ever did bring the Office back there is still plenty of scope (especially for 1 offs). I actually liked Tims new colleague (the pregnant woman) and thought some of her stuff was quite funny...

Woman: "...I've had my fair share of men lusting after me. Dont know what they see in me."

Tim: "Yeah, I'm racking my brains..."

Also, spot on with 'Animals' from Gervais. Little bits of Brent-isms, but generally a very funny and cleverly written (thanks Merchant) stand-up routine.

I loved the bit on the boxing day series typical Tim humour,

About disneyland Paris and sexual positions, almost in hystics.

Yeah I agree Gareth was brilliant but the woman was pretty funny too

I was quite surprised too when Brents final date was actually quite attractive.

The ending was superb, the perfect ending after teasing it over the 2 series's. You almost felt happy for Brent after his sucessful "date" as well.

Now after that perfect ending I hope they leave it there as an all time classic and don't go and decide to make more episodes that turn out to be utter crud - Fools and Horses take note.

Must admit I was disappointed by it as well.  Though that's probably more to do with the extremely high level of expectation I had.

Thought Brent's video in the first programme was superb, can't think why it wasn't a hit.

And a superb quote from last night - "Can we please stop talking about my dead mother's breasts?"

It didn't quite have that belly laugh or cringe factor that the previous series had for me, though.  I think it was a wise move to finish it now rather than let standards slip or before people get fed up of it.

hmm I agree the out and out belly laughs were a bit short but for me there were quite a few Brent-cringeworthy moments. Brent on his blind dates, Brents music video, Brents Nightclub PA's and Brent doing his sales pitch for his wares.

Not totally funny in itself, but with Brents little sideways look to the camera... absolute classic comedy!
