The Marlborough Head (Rochford)

Hi there. Just taken over The Marlborough Head in Rochford (Nearest pub to the train station). Apparently there used to be a Southend United corner in the pub. Being a Southend fan myself im interested in getting this back up and running again. Just wondered if any one from this site used to drink in there and could tell me what sort of stuff there used to be. Apparently there used to be a board up that all Southend fans used to use to put upcoming events/advertise etc? So in the process of getting this going again.

Would be grateful for any advice/ideas?

the Anne Boleyn used to have the same thing - albeit slightly out of date ( pics of Capleton, Conlon, Hails and Alvin ! )

I used to live in Ashingdon and whilst I was never a regular I can confirm that there was an SUFC corner but I think this only went as far as some clippings from the local press and a few team photos.

Good luck with the place anyway.

Indeed the Royal Tandoori next door is the Dogs tackle was my local curry house untill I move out of essex 3 yrs ago have been back a couple of times and they still remember me in there decent blokes and a bloody good ruby.

I trust this new Southend corner will include a "house" copy of All At Sea, the perfect companion to a quiet evening down the pub.

If we get some decent talent in prehaps i might get one down and have a evening of topless darts. Im sure that would get the punters in.

Ill see what i can do. Dont really think theres anywhere to put one up at the moment though. Cheers for the idea though ill keep it in mind and try think of where we could get one up.

Im sure something can be arranged.

Ive put a board up in the Southend corner anyway so that fans can pin stuff up. Feel free if you want to pin something to advertise shrimperzone.
