The Home of Football?

Think you know the history of football?

Do you know about the Chinese army exercise of 200-300 BC that is one of the earliest descriptions of kicking a ball into a net...

How about 'Shrovetide Football', still played in some parts of England on Shrove Tuesday, where there were no rules preventing ANY method being used to get your ball into your opponents net - apart from murder and manslaughter?

Or that in 1314 the Lord Mayor of London issued a proclamation banning football in the city due to the rumpus it caused?

See what else you didn't know:

Football History this may not be 100% accurate - but its an interesting read!

being long of spare time myself at work today i have perused the entire article.. basically it says this country has always been full of ****ed up yobs who like to kick things or pick them up and run off with them.. the people in charge hate this and have always tried to stop it.. the only differences now are all but a few players have been turned into the crowd and a few rule changes to stop the players gettig hurt...the crowds continue to hate each other and would if the oppertunity arose beat the crap out of each other at the drop of a hat
