The Hatton Garden Jewellery Burglary

RHB

Return to Modnomor Mountain⭐⭐🦐
The 'geriatrics' that carried out this burglary have been sentenced today.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-35767110

As a law abiding citizen I have always thought that people who steal others property should pay the price if they are caught. I can't help thinking in this case that maybe the sentences are a bit 'short'? And to my eternal discredit I secretly hoped they would get away with it.

Roll on the film of their efforts and I bet Michael Caine will star in it.

With Sir Ian McKellen and Sir John Hurt .

I believe 7 years is the maximum sentence for a single burglary case, as no one that was employed by the Vault was present at the time of the raid, the judge could not jail them under "armed robbery" (which could have been 30 odd years).

I'm sure I read one of them still hasn't been caught and much of the loot hasn't been recovered. I felt the same, there was something I liked about a group of dodgy old timers having a go. (please note I do not share this sentiment when it comes to travelling Cambridge United "fans")

Yeah, the guy wearing the dodgy ginger wig & flat cap known as "Basil" in the CCTV has still not been caught.

On a similar note, tonights Crimewatch is featuring a reconstruction of the death of John "Goldfinger" Palmer, who got his nickname by connection to the 1983 Brinks Mat gold bullion robbery, and is thought to be linked to the Hatton Garden burglary.

The odd thing about the killing was that he was found dead in his Essex back garden in broad daylight and his cause of death was thought to be a heart attack, then after a whole week later a post mortem showed that he had actually been shot 6 times in the chest !! and only then did the police get involved, by which time the garden / crime scene had been "proffesionally" stripped of evidence.

Now ive watched a couple of episodes of CSI in my time, but really.... how can it take a proffessional a whole week to notice the difference between a cardiac arrest and 6 bullet holes in his chest as the cause of death?

They were smart enough to shoot him where he had operation scars I believe.

The film is going into production by Metrodome.

If anyone hasnt seen the news article before, have a look at the link below: the actors they suggest, have a uncanny likeness to the real life criminals.

As long as they're cheeky chirpy cockernee geezers who luvved their mutha, and would ahnly do it to their ahn, it'll be a right old tin barf.

#translation - they're violent criminals who'd shoot you in the back and steal everything you own as soon as look at you.

Not bad actually

Thats what I thought, some serious stars there with great careers, would imagine it would do pretty well at the box office in the UK, due to the interest in the case.

Got me thinking about other british stars in and around that age bracket, that could feature. The late Bob Hoskins I would imagine would be ideal, but in terms of living actors, so far I have:

Terrence Stamp
David Jason (if it was a comedy rather than a drama)
Alan Ford
Ben Kingsley
Ian Mcshane
Ian McKellon

What 6 times all across his operation scars? and through the shrubs and all from distance outside the view of his garden CCTV?
Surely once would be something of the finest marksman, but 6 times must be an impossible shot?

Ooooh well, i will be watching it tonight, to see what they say on crimewatch.

I believe they climbed over the fence, got up close and personal.
