Echo News The five youngsters called into Southend United's pre-season plans

All very deja vu from MM's season

You're right. MM faced a near impossible situation - now the three amigos do too. I'm confident that they will cope with it better than he did having been through the mill last year.

The difference for the three amigos are supporters are rightly venting their anger at RM
Previously it was always a ****e manager that the anger was aimed at, whether Powell, Brown etc
I remember when Bond left his words ring true” Who ever takes over needs a lot help “ and sadly his words have come true
You maybe able to work with one hand tied behind your back but two …..

All very deja vu from MM's season
The difference is these youngsters are a lot younger and more inexperienced than the youngsters under MM (and SC before him).

When we spoke about playing the kids under SC or MM it was largely players in the u23s who had completed their scholarships but maybe weren’t quite ready for the first team.

Because of cost cutting measures we scrapped the u23s, which bridged the gap between u18s and first team. And then because we failed to pay the u18s last season almost all of our scholars have left.

Tom Clifford was 21 in 2020/21, Emile Acquah 20, Terrell Egbri 19 and Richard Taylor turned 20 early in the season.

Meanwhile Jacob Bland is the eldest of this lot and will be 18. Zak Hammond was in the u16s last year.
