Is looking very weak at the moment in the centre of defence.

Two centre half's. One who missed lots of games last year and another who may not be fit for the start of the season and is also injury prone. Are either of those going to last the season?

We have John white. But he is not a top league 1 centre back.

To me it's a concern which will be tested by a very good brighton side tonight.

Have to agree with this, Turner for all his experience is very injury prone. To rely on him and AF for the season would be a huge gamble. Another decent CB is an absolute must

Well, we know that Brown is looking for a centre back - so fingers crossed that comes to fruition. Hopefully sooner rather than later but if it is next week then so be it.

I don't want to be dipping into the loan market for a youngster from the top division and otherwise there is our own youth taking to the pitch.

Or possibly some triallists in the next couple of games?

JW might not be a top L1 CB but he is very reliable- a back 4 of Demetriou, White, Ferdinand and Hendrie is good enough (add Turner and another CB signing, and Coker when fit then it becomes more than good enough)

but if we get lucky with a talented youngster on loan, he'd pair up nicely with either of the experienced lads.
