The Cowboys suck donkey balls in hell

I'm not sure why the NFL thread was closed, but the conspiracy theorist in me believes that YB locked it down before I could refute his Cowpukes fan allegations. Why did they build a hole in the roof at Texas Stadium? So God could have a good old laugh whilst John Riggins ran roughshod over the 'Boys.

Hail to the Redskins
Hail Victory
Braves on the Warpath
Fight! For all D.C.!

Wasn't me who locked it!

I didn't think of locking it, before you had the chance of refuting such scurrilous rumours

If this is the newly designated NFL thread, and the title would be apt, then I'd like to start with this statement.

FAO: Favre. Retire already. Nobody gives a **** anymore.

Go eagles!!!

although i dont think we'll be going anywhere this season!! looking forward to watching the bengals this year, should be entertaining football!!

I think I might have to adopt a new team... Although NFL has grabbed me (not as much as NBA, mind) I've never really felt affiliated to any team aside from the Bucc's, as they're the only team I've seen live. I'd continue to support Tampa, but I get enough emotional trauma through Southend, to be honest...

The good thing about the NFL is that in general teams fortunes go up as well as down due to the draft system so Tampa's time will come again (although it wasn't that long ago they were in the superbowl).

True enough, but with the Glazers at the helm I can't see any substantial efforts being made off the field to improve what's happening on the field... The Red Knights are hoping for a double-dip recession which will give them the platform to oust the Glazers as they're property-based problems would only deterioate further, and I can't help but think that that's a thought shared by a considerable amount of Bucc's fans too.

I very much doubt that Bucs' fans would want to return to Culverhouse style ownership after the Glazers got them a spanking new stadium and a Superbowl title. Personally, I think the Manure fans are a whining bunch of babies - they're still the biggest club in the world, they still sign players for huge amounts of money and they're still a good bet to win trophies. They should stick their yellow and green scarves up their arses.

Isn't that the disease of the typical sports fan, though? No matter how much success a club achieves, the supporters will always desire more and sulk when it isn't achieved. It may slightly different in US sports with the cycle of success shaped by the draft and differing draft year quality, but it's still essentially the same. If the Lakers don't win the NBA this coming season, you can bet there'll be a riot outside the Staples centre come June...

Mind you, the fools riot when they win as well...

 Well said that man.

Just seen the Sports Center highlights of the Cowboys-Skins game. Unlucky Dallas. Ha ha ha ha ha.

My thoughts exactly Uncle L. After the Rays had surrendered a ninth inning lead earlier in the day, I had a horrible feeling that I was going to suffer two miserable last minute defeats until I saw Brian Orakpo in a headlock at the line of scrimmage. Beautiful, just beautiful.

BTW, how awesome was the 'Two Tribes' music and retrospective to start the Channel 4 coverage this week?

I didn't see that; it's a shame C4 aren't doing a highlights show as I can't see myself staying up for the late game all that often.

My Bears had a similarly fortuitous late escape, Detroit getting a last minute TD called incomplete. Fair play to the Lions coach though, who refused to talk about that late incident:

"The time I stand up here and start blaming officials for a loss is the time I don't need to be doing this anymore,"

Messrs Ferguson, Allardyce, Wenger, etc - take note.

There's Channel 4 coverage?

What time is this? Apologies to whoever has already told me this, I may have been drunk at the time.

By the time I'd sorted out an internet feed of the Bengals v Pats, we were already a TD down. The first half was just horrific. Fumble, pick 6 and the defence struggling to stop Brady. Second half, after the 90+ kick return for a TD, we at least were moving the chains and getting the passing game going.

The Ravens next up. It's not a kind fixture list.

Channel 4 will be showing the late game every Sunday

Schedule

You talk about the schedules, that's the main reason I have Dallas down to win fewer than 10 games this season. As well as their division, where every game is effectively a playoff game, they have to travel to Indy, Minnesota, Green Bay and San Diego. Ouch.

Watch them go 15-1 now...

There's Channel 4 coverage?

Channel 4 are covering the Sunday evening game every week, the show starts just before 1am, with old favourite Gary Imlach hosting. Brought back some great memories. Brutal start for Cincy, I've tipped them to win the AFC North, but they're going to have to play a whole lot better in the four games against the Ravens and Steelers.

Not only do they suck donkey balls in hell, but the Cowboys are now 0-2, courtesy of my Bears. The way the game started, with our offensive line thinner than crepe paper, had me worried, but the boys came good. Go Bears!
