And is the Championship still not the 4th best supported division (it's not a league) in Europe?

If a league is "an association of sports teams that organises matches for its members" then the division is still a league?

The Championship only behind the Premiership, La Liga & German Bundesliga in term of having bigger crowds. Series A & French Ligue is behind Championship for crowds support its Pathetic, so we are 4th biggest in Europe

But only because they have fewer teams and therefore less games. If you look at average attendances the Championship is behind them.

Let see, Monaco get 5000+ fans every home game, Ajaccio get under 4'000+, Le Man get 9000+, Auxerre get under 10'000 but get 15'000 or more if they play Lyons etc. Nice & Lille get under 12'000 every home game, but low as 7-8'000 if they play the like of Ajaccio & Metz.

Serie A clubs like of Empoli, Chievo, Lecce, Siena, Ascoli, Livorno & Cagliari get around 4 to 12'000 every home games. Club like Juventus, Palermo, Sampdoria, Lazio & Roma get avg. of 26'000 for their home game, Roma & Lazio double their crowd when they play each another. Juventus crowds in Champion League & Italian Cup is embrassing.

Don't tell me that if French Ligue & Serie A can move their league to 24 club to complete with the Championship, but won't make no different to boost their average crowds in their league. Believe me, Serie B & French Ligue 2 have worst crowd than League 1 & League 2!

Well said, but only partially true.

Serie A average last year : 22,476

Championship : 17,595

(up from 17,418 in 2004/5)

Championship crowds might actually rise next year despite the arrival of the pigsty into the equation. Three of the four worst supported went down, whilst none of the top 4 in crowds (Sheff Wed, Norwich, Ipswich & Derby) went up.

Juventus crowds are poor but the ground is unpopular with the locals and having been there I can understand why.
