The Blues Are Going Up??

HUTTON

Guest
January 1st and we sit 11th having just lost 1-0 to Bristol Rovers at home.

With Leon Clarke's transfer going up the wall the question on every Southend fans lips, who going to score the goals. With Matt Harold and Charlie MacDonald proving to pretty poor for league one football and Billy Panter shipped out to Swindon the Blues were left with just loanee Dean Morgan playing upfront.

Now with only 4 games left of the season the Shrimpers find themselves sitting pretty in 4th place and top of the form table (ahead of bottom team Port Vale).

With new strikers Lee Barnard and James Walker gelling alsmost straight away, the goals starting flowing. The defence sorted itself out and we saw the Adam Barrett and Peter Clarke of old, here there and everywhere, Getting stuck in and and chipping in with some great goals. Clarkey 30 yards against Orient, and Barrett a sweet left foot strike, which any striker would have been proud of!!

The future's never looked so good for us Southend fans, with a new staduim in 2010 and possibly championship football next season.

Currently 9 points ahead of Tranmere, we can confirm a play-off place by beating Northampton on saturday,

I believe we can do it, Come on you Shrimpers
