Who will win The Ashes?

Three days to go before the main event of the summer starts in of all places Cardiff. No surprises in the 13 that England have named here.
IMO Harmison should be in the squad.

The question is can England win back the urn?

Can't wait for Wednesday !!!

This is going to be a thrilling series i feel

Head says 2-1 Heart 2-2

I have no frickin job at the moment, and have spent the last 2 weeks enormously bored... So as of Wednesday my life will have meaning again.

I agree with what Harmison said... They do look like they've lost a shade of confidence and, with us being on home soil, that is exactly what you'd need to be full of. For an Aussie side, they look weak in the bowling attack which should work fully in our favour... Pietersen could single handedly destroy a timid, youthful attack in an innings.

The first test is vital... Worry the Aussies and I think they'll crumble, show any weakness and they're likely to pick up on it. I don't know whether it's an educated estimate or just blind faith, but I do think we'll win this.

Rumour is that Lee is ruled out of the first test, possibly second as well. Whilst he has been poor internationally of late, he looked handy in the last warm up game and this can only be good news. Would rather it had been Johnson but it now means they are likely to have to go with 4 bowlers who have yet to play a test in England. Plus whether his replacement is like for like in Hilfenhaus, or they now go for the spinner, it will weaken their tale a little bit as Lee has proved handy with the bat in English conditions.

First psychological victory to England I think.

I'm really looking forward to the Ashes, it was the 2005 series that got me into cricket and I've been hooked since then.

I don't think it will reach the hights that 2005 reached, but that was a whole new level. I think the two squads are closer than in 2005, but thats because they have dropped a level since then. They no longer have the big guns they had back then. RP can't turn round and give the ball to McGrath or Warne when he needs a wicket, and he doesn't have a Hayden or a Gilchrist to score a big 100 plus when the going is tough.

Our chances in this series rest on Flintoff and his fitness. Even though his batting takes more time to return to form after an injury, his bowling normally comes back on the money. He has the potential to take a 5 for every time, and can across score big 100s.

I still think England have a soft underbelly, and I can easily see a succession of batsmen getting out cheaply like Collingwood, Flintoff and Prior. Once we begin to lose wickets, we seem to go into our shell. The only one that doesn't is KP. Its obvious to say, but he is my man to watch this series, as is Stuart Board.

Heart says 2-1 England, head says draw and the Aussies to regain the urn.

Just been on SSN .. Lee is definately out the first test

not quite clap-worthy, cos out of all Australian's Brett Lee is definitely my favourite, he comes over like quite a nice guy. Great news for england though

Sorry for any confusion ... He comes over as a decent bloke off the field (very un-Aussie like !!!) and i'm sorry for him that he's missing out ... he certainly knows what an Ashes series is all about and appreciates the history behind it

The clap was definately meant in reference to it being great news for England
