To all of those very kind folk who took the buckets out amongst the people last night - you were absolutely brilliant. It's a pity that we still had to endure such scepticism from some people, if they don't want to donate fine, just no need to go into a diatribe (do I mean that word?) as to why.

I know there'll be an announcement as to how much was raised later, but suffice to say we were all very pleased with it.

Special mention to Lynn and Katie out on the West who did some fantastic (if not always legal!) fund raising - girls, I salute you:clap:

The t-shirts did made an appearance and a very big thank you to Ayrshire Blue for his donation in that respect!

And then to top it all off, a visit from Kev Maher in the bar, the game, the result and the players' reactions - what a night!

The Power of the Zone and it's Members...Well done everybody who helped great effort.

Diatribe is a good word Kay, as I heard one bloke give a whole load of invective to whoever were collecting in the East car park. Trying to explain to him that the collection was on behalf of the Trust cut no ice, and he carried on ranting about Martin, and how much money he had given to the club over 25 years. Those collecting did not deserve that.

Well done all for their hard work, and sorry I wasn't able to help this time, other than my financial contribution, and I'll hope to give more assistance on future occasions.

Brilliant work by all who gave their time* to collect, and well done Kay for organising it at such short notice.

*Amongst other things, from the sound of it....

hope it went well. cricko grabbed me and took me for every penny i had.

i did hear some people having a moan though which was a bit crap tbh.

Thanks Kay for all your organising, it was a great night on Friday, most people were so generous and happy to give to the Trust, a few moans but we just ignored them !

Just glad that I could be of help on Friday night :o) xxx

And me do something "not legal" ................... never, I'm an angel !! xxx

SUFC for ever !

The real stars were the people who donated money. The generosity of some people was amazing. It was an amazing night and really showed the true spirit of Southend fans.

Well done Kay and everyone else for all your hard work.

those that moan should take a look at themselves and think why are they moaning about people who are doing there up-most to save this football club!
