Hi Shrimpers. Hudders fan here. All full of the usual pre-season optimism, which usually pops around 20 minutes into the first game...

Anyway, just wondering how you feel your team is shaping up ? We've invested quite heavily (like last year), but unlike last year, there has been a general change in emphasis, going more for the younger (ambitious / hungry?) player rather then the established player (P Clarke excepted).

It also sounds like a fair following from us next week. Apparantly over 1000 tickets sold already.!

Also there are 24 of us - including me - cycling down in aid of charity from Wednesday onward. Thats 232 miles or so ! So I hope you can give us a nice welcome down there and if you're feeling generous, please support our charity...

Maybe for the return fixture, you'd like to set up a group to cycle up here...!!

All the best for a good game next saturday.

Hello there. Well done for doing the cycle ride and good luck. You're definitely one of my predictions for promotion this season. People say it every season with Huddersfield but you genuinely have a squad which looks like promotion material this season. All your signings have added quality and you seem to have a good manager and board behind you too.

You can probably tell from the threads on here that there isn't much pre-season optimism. We have a thin squad and our defensive shortage has only been covered by two loanees from Colchester. We've lost to Stevenage and Dagenham in friendlies and already have a few injuries. On the positive side, our midfield is looking strong so expect a battle at least when you come here. I hope Clarke gets a good reception, maybe he'll be generous and let us have a goal or two. Safe journey.

I read about that somewhere, isnt your chairman joining in with the cycle down to Roots Hall?
I think if you read a few threads that have been made in the last few days, you will see that there isnt much pre-season optimism on the Zone atm.
But Im quite looking forward to the new season, cant wait till 3:00pm next saturday, when another season kicks off, and I hope that everyone of our fans welcomes both Clarkey and Theo back to Roots Hall. Enjoy your cycle down here, and good luck for the game!

Wecome to the board andyterrier. I'm pleased to say that we are in FINE SHAPE. We've had a really excellent pre-season and our fitness levels are really high. We have a small, tightly knit squad who are really motivated and rearing to go next Saturday. As you may have seen, we haven't made a great number of additions to the squad this summer but that is because we really want players who don't care about the salary they are paid but who are just proud to put on the shirt. Our defence is looking pretty solid and our strikers are going to score goals for fun this season.......it's only the midfield that gives me some cause for concern but I'm sure we'll have it sorted come Saturday.
I've never seen the club's message boards brimming over with such confidence you're certainly going to face a wall of noise next week as our supporters unite behind the team. I'm so pleased to hear that you are cycling down for charity as you won't be making that trip all the way down south for nothing .........it's certain you won't be shown too much charity on the turf at Roots Hall.
I'm SO sorry that I shalln't be there to join in the fun ...........these little men in white coats won't let me out, even for the day. They say that I am making progress
..............I've just got to keep on with the medication........if ONLY I could get rid of these delusions, I'd be FINE.

I think a 0-0 would be optimistic. Clarkey is sure to get a good reception. I just hope Theo plays like he did at your place last season. He's sure to get a few chances. I just hope he can manage to miss an open goal again

Well done on the charity ride, hope it goes well. Stick a basket on the front of your bike to take the 3 points back to West Yorks.

Hello bretheren.

Good to see there are some good people left in the world and I take my hat off to you for cycling all that way I really do.

There will be a few of us in a pub which is away friendly by the way called the cliff and I was thinking we could send the old hat around and maybe have a collection for you and the boys along with a bit of good old banter :).

Hope you don;t get a flattie on the way ad be careful of the hedgehogs on the way!.

I know what you're all doing - you're lulling me into a false sense of inevitability, when in reality, you know you're gonna crush us.... ;)

Hope you give us all a warm and generous welcome, and see you down there on Sat.

"ooo to be a, ooo to be a Terrier"

No chance in hell of that happening. Well, unless your team comes down with swine flu this week.
