I read an interesting report this morning about the premier league clubs wanting to get trials of safe standing back into the premier league.
Would it be a good idea for standing to be brought back to the hall? Or maybe even if the stadium does ever appear, that terracing be brought to Fossets Farm?

Back to the current time, I don't think standing areas would be a bad idea, could maybe have cheaper tickets than seating like at other grounds across League 2? Maybe in the North Bank if we had a part of terracing, increasing numbers with cheaper tickets and maybe a section in the East Stand so that others have the option to stand away from the North Bank? I say that suggestion from reading other posts on here about people complaining about the language which fair doos! everyone is entitled to their own preferences and opinions....

Care to link to that report?

It won't happen. Clubs don't want terraces as they can charge more for seats, politicians want to price out what they see as the hooligan lower classes and Sky want to price out people so they watch at home/at the pub.

It's ridiculous that Fossets won't contain a standing element.

No, just no.

Besides rather than offering standing at the Olympic Stadium, shouldn't Wet Spam offer binoculars to see the pitch?

They aren't allowed to under Article 3 of the Human Rights Act, which prohibits torture or inhuman or degrading treatment.

I thought that going to see Wet Spam was something to do with serving time for inhumane, nasty, criminal acts. Wearing a Wet Spam shirt is akin to having someone walk around with a sign that reads "PAEDO" behind you.

I dont know why they cant just designate certain areas as standing, even with seats there. The seats would ensure the crowd are spread correctly and prevent surging, but allow people to stand.

If its the freedom to push and jump on each other people want then cant see that being brought back.

Id certainly allow standing at football games though to some extent.

Great piece on TalkSPORT at the moment with Stan Collymore campaigning for Safe Standing. Worth a listen if you're near a radio.

You may be able to stand on ladders to watch the game over the unbuilt 4th stand at Fossetts Farm if you really must stand !
