It must be a better bet now surely?

With Curbs in his new role and wanting in his own quiet way to make an impact Mr Sherringham will I expect be told that he ought to look elaewhere. And where better than his now local club, deep in trouble but with some hope still. What a last hurrah it would be to a glittering career, he will have noticed what the Goat did and might think he could have a similar impact.

Money could be an issue but I doubt if Teddy is really desparate for dosh and might prefer the chance of really acheiving something with us where he should be fairly certain if the effort is put in he will get the plaudits rather than shed loads of filthy lucra.

Come on Ron, Tilly & Teddy, you know it makes sense.

Oh, and Moyet to sing him on the pitch when he makes his debut home v WBA please.

Only thing that might be an issue for Tilly is that Teddy is looking to get into management reasonably soonish, obviously if we offered him a player/coach role he'd probably take it given the opportunity to take his first steps into coaching and the locality of the club. He could even be our next manager if it happens - though hopefully Tilly will be here for many years to come.

Not sure how reliable that is. Living in Maldon as I do, there's been a rumour round here for a while that the large new house being built up by Benton Hall GC is going to be owned by a footballer. But people I know reckon it's not Teddy, who's family live in the Chingford mafia area, near my old boss, and he's staying up that way.

I've heard those rumours too. Can almost see it from my flat in Witham. Perhaps I can help by popping round and talking him into joining?

There was even a bit in The Maldon & Burnham Standard denying that Teddy Sheringham has bought that house.

I've heard rumours that it Youssi Benayoun.
