Technics 1200/1210 servicing

Does anyone know of anywhere in Thurrock / Basildon / Southend that can service decks?

Not at all urgent but I haven't had them done in a few years so just thinking ahead.

Cheers.

You might find this of interest;

My wife gave me a right slagging the other day when I correctly identified a twin SL1200 deck set-up which featured on the lid of a jigsaw in a charity shop (which I just had to buy). That doe NOT make me sad, does it?! You can't beat a turntable - I've got a Luxman PD272, a Dual CS505-1 and a refurbished Garrard AP76. I had more but have recently offloaded a Dual CS505-2 a Garrard SP25, another AP76 and one of those ION USB jobs (ugh!!). I don't know of anywhere that does dedicated turntable servicing - it's all mass produced rubbish dressed up as hifi nowadays that wouldn't be looked at in the hifi heyday. The specialist dealers are few and far between as are the small independant electronics shops that had a workshop attached. Rayleigh HiFi might take a look but they usually seem too busy posing around the stores and ignoring you if you haven't got £14000 for a pair of speakers.

This guy looks suitably qualified but it's a £40 postage (+ cartons) just to get it there.

Good luck and long live vinyl.

Most certainly not! 🤣 I saw a Technics LED lamp at a boot sale through other week. Still kicking myself for not buying it. cheers for that though I'll look into it. There used to be a DJ shop in Stifford Clays but that's since closed so weighing up options. They're built to last though. Had mine for donkeys years and nothing wrong with them.

Only place in Essex is this guy

Supposedly the top boy, 6 month waiting list though. And you’ll have to go Colchester 😁

Got mine out of the loft a couple of years ago, been there for nearly 10 years, work fine. Rigged up with my circa 1990 Denon separates - built to last
