Team you hate for some obscure or irrational reason

I'm sure the 'which team do you hate the most' thread has been done before, and the usual scum have been discussed - Wet Sham, Col Ewe, Borient etc. But is there a team out there which you just don't like, and you can't really explain why? Or a team you despise for some bizarre and entertaining reason. I hate Charlton because I once took a right good kicking outside Crapton Park when they were playing there during the 1991-2 season, but that's not the sort of thing I'm looking for.

I'm going to nominate Reading. That Madejski strikes me as an arse and their fans have always been a bit too gobby for my liking. I also think those two Hunt brothers look like they should be canvassing for driveway resurfacing business.

Crystal Palace - I had some friends in London who I have known since a very young age and I used to go to the odd game when we went to see them. I used to like them and look out for their score. Then I got the job at Stansted in 2005 and met a bloke called Ali who was a Palace fan now he was not a football fan he was a Palace fan. You asked him anything about football he didn't have a clue, ask him anything about Palace and he knew the answer. He hasn't missed a home or an away game for about 3/4 years now.

I don't doubt his support to the club but what I really hate is how biast he is about his club, even to the fact when at work once we had a chat and the question came up. Who is the best player at your club? And who do you think is the best player in the world? To which I replied: Freddy Eastwood and Lionel Messi (this was in 2005/2006) then he replied: Clinton Morrison and Andy Johnson! What the ****? He just didn't have a clue, he was obsessed with Andy Johnson and thinks he is the best thing since sliced bread.

During the championship season I went to Selhurst Park with him and watched us go 0-1 up thanks to Freddy Eastwood I loved it and of course we lost. The best player for us on the pitch by far was Jamal Campbell-Ryce he was running rings round them. On the way home I was discussing about how I thought such and such was good for them and said how amazing Campbell-Ryce was to which he replied who was he? Didn't even remember him.

Also another time I went to Portman Road with him and sat in the Ipswich end with a mate, it was a sunday game and fancied it they were playing Palace so Ali was there. And Palace lost 1-0, he got in an arse with me because he asked what I did when Ipswich scored, and I said I celebrated LOL! (Knew it would wind him up). Then he started spouting about how great their support was. Now I was in the stand right next to the away fans and all I heard was one chant repeated about 3/4 times during the game. 'RED, BLUE ARMY' It was shocking for away support......

And for this reason I hate Palace and love it when they lose and I have gone from liking them to hating them because of this stupid prick.

Was thinking about this and although there are plenty of teams I dislike - Rangers, Col Ewe, West Ham, Liverpool, Chelsea, Sevilla - I can think of a (fairly) rational reason for disliking them.

However, listening to the classifieds on Five Live last night, I heard that Watford had lost and I found myself shouting 'YESSSS!'. I am really not sure why that was as Watford have never done me any harm. Maybe it's because the town is a **** hole. Maybe it's because most of the Watford fans I know are dicks. Maybe it's the fact that they still whinge about Andy Gray because of the 1984 FA Cup Final. So Watford it is.

My old Scout leader refused to give us a lift back from somewhere unless we swore that Watford would beat Liverpool and stay up.

They lost and went down. What's the moral of this story? Don't get a bunch of Scouts to swear on a football game.

Dundee - Reason being is i fell out with an HR Director who worked at the same company as me, we were friends up until then and i used to look our for Dundee's scores. Now i just want them to get gubbed every weekend.

Pretty sad really

Manure due to family loyalties, as they are from the Yorkshire side of the Pennines, although my dad is from Salford is a fan!!

Also, Spurs due to going to school in Tottenham when in the infants. All my friends were Gooners, so my hatred of them followed! Also the offside goal in the 119th minute doesn't help!! :darkcloud:

Spurs- I hate them so much it actually hurts, they think cos they done the double in 1961 that they should be challenging for the league title every year, they have the most moany fans in football and the most arrogant, I would love it if they went down, in fact I would actually die a happy man the day after spurs' relegation I hate them.

Surely you were around in the '76-'77 season?! Agree, hate Spurs. Especially as I had to endure their scuminess in the home end of the carling cup exit.

West Ham , Spurs, Col U, Orient, Celtic but as the questions ask it would have to be....

Newcastle - Reason they think they are bigger then they really are and have the best and most loyal fans. When they don't by a country mile.......

Inverness Caledonian Thistle - Franchise - merger scum, a bit like the dislike for MK Dons who are just Franchise scum.

Sorry Toellandback, but I have never liked Leeds, Always thought Giles, Reaney etc , whilst being great footballers , were a nasty, cynical team.
Man U , because they had the greatest example of Plastic fans when I was at school, never saw them play but called themselves supporters , somethings never change.

Gillingham - For being in Kent

Blackburn, two reasons , 1 for being the first team to really buy their success, 2 for their supporters chasing me away from Ninian Park in 76 thinking I was Welsh
Cardiff for their supporters chasing me after I had escaped the Blackburn fans for thinking I was a Northerner
