If Eastwood is fit play him, he needs games, not sitting on the bench. Tomlin has scored, good, but he should have done this weeks ago. We have one of the best strikers in the lower leagues in freddy, spending his time getting match fit sitting on the bench.

I agree but we really do need results at the mo. When I selected my choice I flipped up between Brit and Freddy. Freddy and Brit don't seem to work well together to me and so I went for Brit due to his higher work rate, Freddy's undoubted experience made it a tough choice though.
Manager has real problems on his hands now all are getting fit!

If injuries permit, we must be unchanged. We need to look to get a settled side, and when better start than after a good away win?

I completely agree. Freddy can be a match winner on his day, but Britt and Tomlin have a great understanding and after Tuesday night you can hardly drop one. I'd stick with the same side too!!

Team I want:-

Smith
Clohessy Phillips Cresswell Barker
Hurst Mkandawire Timlin Martin
Corr Eastwood

Subs: Bentley Prosser Leonard Laird Tomlin Woodyard Straker?

But I think it will be unchanged from Tuesday

Smith
Clohessy - Phillips - Cresswell - Barker
Hurst - Mkandawire - Laird - Timlin
Assombalonga - Tomlin

Subs: Bentley - Prosser - Straker - Leonard - Martin - BBBC - Eastwood

I think this will be the team that PS puts out, however Staker is away on international duty, so I would assume Woodyard would be on the bench instead. Have a feeling that the back four and goalkeeper is the line up that Sturrock wants out all the time, barring injuries and suspensions. Solid look about it, with plenty of experience.

Very similar midfield to what Tilson used to put out in our promotion winning seasons - only one natural wide player in Gower played in that too...

whatever the team its actually nice to have options rather than selecting from the walking wounded. Midfield looks strong now and our forward options are actually scaryily good just look at the fact that freddy eastwood can not get in the team at the moment, that says so much. Just the issue of clean sheets, left back still the issue IMO

Although i would like to see more of Benyon. Think he is a good player and needs to get some minutes under his belt. Great player at this level of football but also a good commentator so it is a fight between us and BBC Essex to see who wants it more and i think BBC Essex are winning

No question in my mind, PS will have an unchanged line-up unless their is an injury we do not know about. A strong bench of Bentley, Prosser, Leonard, Woodyard, Martin, Eastwood & Corr.

Expect an exciting shoot out, with Vale saying they will go for it with their 2 speedy wingers and 2 up top. I predict an exciting 4-2 win in front of 5100 with 350 from Vale.

I fear our home form one again will be our undoing. Lesser teams than Port Vale have come to Roots Hall this season and taken points of us. I realy hope im wrong, but i see prehaps 3 1 Port Vale.

I fear that psychology is part of the problem - judging teams as being "lesser" or not as good as us due to their current league position before we have done the work and put the points on the board ........... after all it is only after 46 games that you can really tell the relative positions.

Having said that we might expect Vale to come and play football ....... and that could really help us.

Come on you Thames Estuary Gallaticos!
