Team next season

What team would you like to see starting the first game next year? If it is a new player you would like to see in that position, just put in an asterisk. Heres mine! -

* - Experienced keeper

Francis * - Experienced defender Clarkey Mulgrew

* - Someone with a bit of pace and flair Bails Macca Gower

Barney * - Someone with a bit of pace and who'll get you 10-15 goals

I think as we did well since Muligrew and Walker arrived i reckon team selection will be virtually the same, but i do think as mentioned in previous thread Mark Gower will leave probably for a final pay day

So team will be

Flavs
Francis Barrett (c) Clarke Muligrew
Moussa Bailey Macca *new left side midfielder*
Walker Barnard

Others
Ginger Goalie
Unexpericed wing back probably Johnny Herd
Experienced central defender
That Morrison Geezer from Cambridge
Liptek
Couple of youngsters to bolster midfield
Grant
Scannel (cos his cheap)
Andy Cole
Hooper
Charles Ademeo

But it does all matter on how much Ron Martin wants to throw. Last season i think he threw alot of dosh in but how much does he have left as this new stadium must be costing a packet

I think you are spot on. I have so much time for AB, but I would, with a very heavy heart, pick Clarke ahead of him. Flavs doesn't dominate enough & is too small, although I can't see Tilly making him his number 2 keeper. The wide pacey winger might be difficult to get, but is essential for balance. Walker might be the ideal partner for Barnard & may get the 10-15 goals we need from Barney's partner.

Suggestions for these positions? The only one that springs to mind is Freedman, providing he doesn't stay a Leeds. He might be 34, but in the two play off games against Carlisle, he was miles better than anybody out there. Carlisle's Hackney impressed me & could be a possible option, providing he wants to leave the frozen North.

Same, but I pick Barrett over Clarke

This team is good enough to win div 1, with a new keeper, and at least 1 decent centre half.

At this stage I think that is an impossible judgement to make. If Leichester were to sign the Man Utd team, and P'boro signed the Chelsea team, we would almost certainly not be good enough to win the league next season. I understand that is not going to happen, but my point is we have no idea how the other 23 team will have moved in the transfer market by the start of the next season, us included
