My guess is 4-5-1/4-3-3 , with Kane in for Freddy , try to contain and hit them on the break.
Think this is the pretty standard format of recent months and has worked well on most occassions.
Anyone expecting something different ?

Would be surprised to see anything else, don't fix what isn't broken. People might be disappointed to not see Freddy play, but this team got us through our league away ties so we may as well stick with it.

I'm not sure. I don't think a defensive approach is the right one. I would stick with 4-4-2 with the same line up as the mac game. We're never good at defending a lead so offence is the best defence. We need to be organised and work hard tracking back in midfield.

That being said knowing Sturrock I think he will go for a more defensive approach with one up top although I don't like this as it invites presure on us.

of late it seems to have helped us dominate the midfield if and i mean IF kane pushes forward enough and hall and mohsni support as they should too.

The same 'home & away' teams PS has been recently will do for me, with the possible exception of starting Freddy instead of Harris

my only issue with this is that harris has been oustanding of late and more than deserves to be picked in the first 11

True & its in no way a reflection on Harris because he has been excellent of late. Its the game plan PS has used for the last few away games & Crewe may well be expecting it. Surprise them a bit by playing Eastwood up top & give Harris a little rest ready to unleash them both at RH..

The rest of the team picks itself as each & every one of them have also been in great form, it must be good when PG gets on the scoresheet..:smile

I despair at our fans some times, I really do.

Sturrock's away tactics have seen us gain a record number of away points (and if not a record, a near record) playing this type of football. In the league we haven't lost a single game that we've led all season. We haven't conceded a goal over the last month and you think we're no good at defending a lead?

:headbang:

Would like to see Bilel in the penalty area more than against Macclesfield. Against Barnet he scored 3 and could have had 6. They couldn't live with him. He can out jump or out muscle most defences when in the right frame of mind. I think Kane in the middle gives him more license to push forward.

For me I'd go for this:

Belford

Clohessy Barker Phillips Gilbert

Mohsni Grant Ferdinand Timlin Hall

Harris

And in reality it'd be more like this when attacking:

Belford

Clohessy Barker Phillips Gilbert

Grant Timlin
Mohsni----Ferdinand------Hall
Harris

Bench: Morris, Prosser, Leonard, Martin & Eastwood.

Basically the 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 we've used a lot this year.

I still think Leonard is perfect for this game, it's just a shame he's not got any match practice.

exactly how i think we will line up, im not sure if im in the minority but yet to see the worth of leonard yet, keeps shape well but tires easily IMO

The only game plan needed for the 1st leg is to make sure.................................we score more than crewe. Simple
