Team for Bristol Rovers

Beefy

Life President
With the squad not being the biggest I can't see there being too many changes tomorrow from the team that started against Chester, injuries permitting. I'm wondering though if there might be one change upfront. Dudfield and Bramble have been the LDV strike-force for much of this season and you've got to wonder whether Tilly would be considering bringing one or both of them back in for this game. Obviously if Lawrie is injured then it won't be him, but with Tes getting on quite early on saturday and playing pretty well I wouldn't be surprised to see him start alongside Eastwood.

Opinions?

Huh? Tes and Fredy, maybe... you can't drop Eastwood at the moment, surely - he's finding the back of the net simply too often to be overlooked.

I would go for Eastwood and Grey but would definately think about putting bramble upfront for the last 30mins. He has a lot to prove and should be fresh enough to give Bristols weary legs a tough time. Gower must start. I think as long as we weather an early bristol storm we should win it. If we score early i think that would finish them.

I can't see there being an early Bristol onslaught, it's not in their or Atkins style. If they do they risk conceding and then the tie would be all over. They'll sit back and try and nick something on the break using Aggogo's pace. They won't go gung-ho until the last 20 minutes.

As a result, I don't think it will be a free flowing spectacle unless we get an early goal. However, I'm sure it will be an edge of the seat job. Nurse, where's my prozac?

there will be changes, there always is for the LDV, and it would not be fair if Tilly did not stick with this tactic, so Tes will start

my only worry is brambles temprement for big games, he dose let others wind him up too easily. last thing we need is a sending off.

Tes has the best big game temprament at the club.

His record in the Cup (FA and LDV) for Southend is superb.

He averages over a goal every other game in the FA Cup, with some memorable performances against Luton, Hartlepool, Canvey, Chesterfield etc in what were all big games.

In the LDV he has been an instrumental figure in consecutive runs to the area final, including scoring two times against Col Ewe. It was that donkey Broughton who got sent off and nearly cost us the tie, not Tes.

CANT DROP FREDI AT THE MO

UP THE BLUES
Nope, gotta be Gray and "Goombo" for me with Freddy benched. He may be on a hot streak but we need him fresh for Saturday - we're through anyway......

Seven straight clean sheets? I can't see Rovers scoring once let-alone TWICE!

BRAMBLE'S A HERO AND WILL PROVE IT WHILE FREDDY COULD PROBABLY DO WITH THE REST. CORBETT TO SCORE WINNING PENALTY....

DON'T KNOW WHY IT HAS TO BE SAID IN CAPS THOUGH

Well done for that.

Now the floodgates will be sure to open wide against our boys!

Dudders (if fit!) and Bramble up front with Eastwood and Gray on the bench if needed!

I'd also like to see Nicky Nic given a run out but don't know who he'd go in for!?!?!

I can't believe I'm reading stuff like this!

"When pride comes then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom"

and

"Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall"

They knew that 3000 years ago when that was written. We are acting so like C********r did last year....

However unlike last year losing the LDV tonight would not be the end of our season. We can be fairly confident about tonights game because I don't think Tilly, Brush, Prior, Barrett, Maher and one or two others will stand for the smallest bit of complacency from the squad.

Our biggest problem tonight is that BR are more or less in the same position we were last year (although our league future was still in the balance). Their whole season rests on this one game. Their players will be up for it and 750+ away fans will also be up for it.

So, even if the sh*t does hit the fan early on, as it could, rather than going into our shells, a bit of co-ordinated 3-1/4 stand support wouldn't go amiss. A rousing rendition of "One Kevin Maher!" will do for starters.

Who cares, its the LDV vans for christ sakes, and the winner tonight will be the loser in the final................
