Talk Sport

steveo

mine to stay the same please
If anyone is dreading a "2005 end of season wobble" it appears that non Shrimpers dont expect one. Talk Sport had the Swansea match announcer/commentator bloke on this morning. He was running through their remaining games ..Blackpool away, blah blah blah, "then at home to Southend who are easily the best team in the Divison".
A win on Friday and we can start thinking about who comes up with us. I would prefer Col U and Brentford as they wont improve a lot in the summer. Then we just need to find 1 more team who will be worse than us next year and we will stay up. Easeee Easeee Eaeee

If its about money then Brentford is the better bet then Col U after all brentford would bring more to the hall then Col U (disgrace thats the case I know) and we will be able to take many more to Brentford then Col U
But....
if its about pride then Col U to come up with us!

Also it would be nice for Brighton and Millwall to stay up always a good game with them but dont look like it!

If Col******r go up, they'll have massive problems next year...

To meet League regulations, Layer Road will have to become All Seater, reducing the capacity by about 1,500 to approx. 4,500?. Not only will this cost a lot as the vast majority of the ground is Terrace, but with a capacity of only 4,500 their matchday income will suffer a massive drop because of the 1,500 lost seats.

We'll struggle paying Championship wages with Matchday income of around 12,000... 4,500 is impossible.

my point, which i put over badly amd will probably do so again, was that our current squad is really a league 2 team and we will be playing in the Championship. Obviously consolidating our position in that league is important so we need to find 3 teams that will be worse than us.
Both Forest and Swansea have spending power so if Brentford and Col U come up with us i cant see major investment in players there, so thats 2 teams we can finish above next season. We just need one more.

It won't - the less we see of both teams charmless "supporters" the better IMO.

Pretty sure thats not the case ESB. IIRC promoted teams get a period to improve facilities to the correct standard. There are still clubs with terracing in the Championship, Eg Brighton & Cardiff

Yeah, Col******r have plans to build a new stadium within the next could of years so they would have to make minimal improvements to Layer Road, if anything.

Don't think they will be forced to do anything with Layer Road at t he moment, they've got three years to get it up to standard and by then they will be in a new stadium
