SZ Challenge Cup

Bob_C - any news on when the Shrimperzone Cup is due to start........

Only joking, however I would be interested in what the rules are going to be, in particular if matches fail to take place.

To give a hypothetical example, what will happen if say Southend-United were unable to fulfill their first group game, because their manager was some sort of Steve Tilson like managerial genius and had beaten a team two divisions above them and were still in the cup?

Presumably the points would be shared?

As manager of The Shrimpers who you would have played, sharing the points would be fine for me too, just to avoid a heavy defeat you would have given me.

And because you had already booked a friendly!

Dont worry it has already been spotted.

A 5-0 walkover is awarded to Southend-United, in accordance with the rules. And stupidity needs to be punished.

That's out of order seeing as I couldn't challenge him anyway.

According to the Cup rules: Any team failing to complete the friendly challenge process will be punished with a 5-0 walkover to the opposing team.

Seeing as I couldn't complete the challenge process because the opposition team was still in the cup, surely that means that I should get the 5-0 win.

But Toddy you agreed to the friendly before realising you were playing HKB's team. If you had waited then i would have awarded you the walkover however you did not. Also lets face it you would have been punished even if HKB was not in the cup or if you had been drawn to play anyone else.

So the moral of the story is if the opposition has arranged a game do not go ahead arrange one for yourself until I have informed you to.

Thanks

Yes in future I will not, but that wasn't in the rules you stated that are pinned to the top of this thread. Anyway we would have ended up with the same result, I would still have had to book a friendly.

We have both presumed that the points would be shared and that does seem to be the fairest thing to do, as it would be wrong to punish HKB for still being in the cup and wrong on me because I booked a friendly which I would have had to do anyway.

I have you know it was a full 49 minutes between finding out about HKB's fixture and my acceptance of friendly and I tried to back out of the friendly (because of fear of backlash) and I did ask for help.

Yep, got that, and I've spent the last 15 minutes re-plotting your downfall after spending an hour on it last night.

It's a tough balance between getting full use out of training, not wishing to be embarrassed, avoiding playing key players and taking advantage of the handicap system.

The starting line-up, formation and tactics are selected. My guess is I'll have 20.5 to 21.5 stars though I'm not scoring many goals if that helps.

ORM as they say in the BDF forum stars are evil!
I played a team with nearly 10 stars more than me last week and I won 1-0 anything can happen also its my reserves not my 1st team. The weather for tonights game is rain and I have 4 players who are quick or technical so they will all be pants in the rain!
