SZ Challenge Cup Tables

Bob Cratchitt

Devil's Advocate
Latest tables found here!!

Group D proved the tightest of all the groups with 3 teams ending up on 4 points and the 4th team on 3 points

In Group A The Shrimpers do well after disastrous start to the cup, with a 5-0 walkover, by managing to win the last two games and progress to the next round.

Groups B, C and E see the favourites for each group take top spot. GNH Utd's cup chances have been hampered by the major restructing of the team this season. However Groups B and E also have their runners ups progress to the next round.Latest tables found here!!

If only I'd brought my World Class set pieces defender earlier, two penalties on his debut

Gets us a second place finish but we always knew it wouldn't be enough unless we really trounced Rochford. On the upside we actually won a friendly for the first time ever!!!!!

BTW, if anyone else who went out fancies a friendly let me know.

EDIT: Scratch that, I need more experience, I'm going flag hunting!

Unbeaten and yet bottom of the group

Oh well - it's been good fun and I look forward to the next one !

Well Done MRB last night was the best match in our league

Thought I'd really push the boat out and play two strikers!

5-3-2 AIM got me promoted, once my better IM's recover form (the three that faced you were poor, weak and weak!) I may try that against a couple of the weaker teams in my division when I play them at home (assuming they don't have good wing attacks).

Looking at the tables I can conclude only one thing: its all down to the name.

Like in real life its the team with 'Southend' and 'United' in their name who are the best, as Southend United FC, Southend United Football Club and my own Southend-United were the 3 teams to take maximum points from the group stages.

I'm sure I could've nicked a point off of you.

When does the draw for the next round take place?

Andee,

I have now challenged Steveh... my only concern is that I'm off on hols tomorrow, and may well not have access to a computer whilst I'm away.

Not only would I be (potentially) in breach of SZ Cup rules by playing my first XI, but I would also miss out on my training slots, which would be a disaster!!

I've sent Steve a message on HT and about to PM him on here... but if anyone can text him and ask him to accept the friendly tonight, that would be brilliant!

Cheers,

Matt

Not really Matt, just I sent them to you for confirmation that your were ok with them, similar to what i did with the first phase of matches.

I was trying to make the page look pretty but i have been snowed under this week with work and evening activities.

So for now you will have to put up with this bland page until i get time to make it look pretty.

Have the fixtures been released ?
Ah, hmm, did I jump the gun...

This is an outrageous Mourinhoesque attempt by MtS to fix the draw for the SZ Cup!

He is trying to strong-arm Steve123456789 into accepting a fixture, so that once Steve (who hasn't been online and is therefore unaware that the draw has not yet been made) accepts he will be able to claim that its too late and the draw will have to be done again. This is nothing short of scandalous and I think MtS should be chucked out of the competition for such an underhand move.

I am truly shocked and appalled.

Yeah, whatever, Weir. I'll be out of the cup by next Tuesday anyway. I have to play my second team which is, franky, a bit pants. Steveh should beat me comfortably.

Matt
