Ref Watch .. Swindon Away .... Covers Permitting

One slight silver lining to the black cloud that was Tuesday's fiasco, was that we didn't have to endure 90 mins of Keith Hill. Hope they re-arrange it for a day when he is not available.

Saturday's match at Swindon will be officiated by Karl Evans from Manchester. He is in his second season and has refereed Southend just once before - away at Bristol Rovers this season (just one yellow there).

His statistics for the season are:

He has refereed 11 matches which have produced 25 yellow and 1 red cards ... so fairly average.

Highlight of his short career is sending off Billy Paynter last season.

Assisting will be Steve Martin from Stafford and Steve Robbins from Gloucester. Simon Knapp, also from Gloucester is 4th official.

Yes, but don't forget the harder you try the more stick you will get if the game is called off, especially if it is close to kick-off! Thanks for the update.

Ah yes notice I have refrained from gloating about a result because we are pants and I will open myself up to dogs abuse when you beat us 3 or 4-0. The snow has stopped now atleast!
