Survey from the Club about Burger offerings

Cockle43

Manager⭐🦐
Not seen anything on here about this so thought I'd put it up.

Had an e-mail from the Club this afternoon with a customer survey about whether the offering for burgers should be upgraded to match the new Eat Street offering in the North West Quadrant. Basically upgrading to a better quality burger at 6oz instead of 4oz, however with a price increase from £5 to £7.
I can't answer for the burger as I had the Hot Dog with Lincolnshire sausage which was impressively good quality and freshly well cooked but I heard others waxing lyrical about the burgers.

So, are we ready to move upmarket and embrace quality or do we just want scoff to soak up the beer, be interesting to see a poll on here if the mods would like to add.

Whatever your feelings I think it is refreshing to actually be asked. It just all feels too grown up; I'm struggling to get used to this, is it how clubs are supposed to be?:Thumbs up:

The text of the e-mail-

Following supporter feedback with the recent North West Quadrant works that have taken place, the club are looking to improve the food offering in the kiosk areas across the whole stadium.

With this in mind, we would like to gather your thoughts on whether you’d be content with paying a slightly higher price for a more premium product.

We are exploring a change in our burger offering in the kiosks from 4oz to 6oz, similar to the external ‘Eat Street’ unit in the North West Quadrant.

Currently the prices are £5 for a burger and £5.50 for a cheeseburger. By increasing the size and quality, the proposed new prices would be £7 for a burger and £7.50 for a cheeseburger.

Could you please confirm, by a simple yes or no on the link below, whether you would be content paying that amount for a more premium product.

Your input is invaluable in helping us create the best possible matchday experience for all fans.

We really need to outsource the food offering or upgrade the cooking facilities. I’m not sure I would pay more for a bigger burger if it’s just more of the same. Seems like eat street are providing a better overall product/ service to that elsewhere in the ground.

However it’s great that the club actually care about their customers and trying new things.

The preparation facilities need to be upgraded first. I don't purchase cooked food in the stadium anymore, as I am not convinced of the hygiene. Sometimes I may have a sausage roll as it has not been prepared on site. Food hygiene Perception is crucial imo.
This absolutely - I stopped eating from the tea bar many seasons ago. I was unhappy with the hygiene after I had watched the person use their hands on the previous customers food and then take the money and then go onto another customer without washing their hands. I asked them politely to wash their hands before serving me and they refused

The guy next to me on Saturday bought a cheese burger from Eat Street for £6.50. It looked good and was a decent size, and he confirmed it was very edible. So why would I want to pay a £1 more from the Club for a similar product? On a pricing front the two outlets have to be equal, or what's the point.

The Eat Street place is only accessible from the West stand - so I guess punters in the east and south wouldn't have the choice

If I get a burger I'll probably stick to the railway burgers.

Really good for about £3.50

Tbh. Its more about buying a decent beer in the west without it meaning missing 15 minutes of the game to be part of the zoo that is the west bar

Well this is the issue. You can get better/cheaper food outside RH and so why would you pay more for something of less quality. I had an Eat Street burger and it was decent, but was £7. Inside the ground it’s a **** take charging a fiver for those burgers. So it’s great that COSU are going out getting opinions from fans.

As a user of the south stand I am supposed to be enticed by the offerings of a food bar that looks unsavoury, is adjacent to the toilets, and serves overpriced fare. A coat of paint for the servery and surrounding area and increased hygiene care should be prioritised before price increases. The inadequacy of the servery to deal with large demand is also an issue.

Do I care about a burger being £7? Probably not if it is decent and served from a hygienic outlet. I do feel for families as that £7 can easily become £28 or more.

As much as I applauded heaven and earth being moved to open more of the north bank for the visit and payday of Charlton, perhaps the loyal following home supporters should be considered first and provided with clean facilities and value for money food. It feels like we are being taken for granted and it is assumed we will, as we have so often, put up with anything.

The whole ground is in a terrible state and needs lots doing to it. I brought a fan of a PL team along last season for a game and they loved the atmosphere and how much of a ‘throwback to the 80s’ the ground was. It really is, it’s not changed much since then has it?

But you’re right we’ve been taken for granted for years being sold all that crap about FF. Hopefully things will change 🤞🏻
