SUFC in Dubai

Prodigal Son

Manager
According to The Times today, SUFC has a stand at the Soccerex conference in Dubai, a gathering of the most influential clubs in world football. I wondered who is representing the club and how but what a good place to go to work!

Apparently Hartlepool are there too.

Anyone know any more?

Ahhh, one of the posters on shrimpers.net (slipperduke - a journo) said he was in Dubai on business. A connection, perhaps?

I can't understand why Southend are there and no other lower legue teams. Chelsea, Arsenal, Blackburn... Southend. Is geoffry trying to tell us something...:;):

Hartlepool are there.
Surprised the club have not mentioned it.
I've been to that hotel which is excellent so could be percieved as a jolly!

P.S, how long ago did you go to the mandinat? its only just been finished over the past few months. they have the river going right round the resort - which is essentially four hotels - a quite crazy idea!
My old man works in dubai so we take annaul holidays to visit him.

Or they're trying to drum up on the quiet some investment from the Middle East?

Shrimperman, October 2004, I went shopping there and had a suit made but I stayed at the Ritz Carlton. I like Dubai but the wife did not so went to Oman this October.

I must say in both places there is lots of cash so maybe GK could sell the dream of buying into a club just outside London, build a new stadium and take on the Premier$hite we hope!

Well considering the talk he was a speaker for was about Micro$oft, I would hazard a guess and say the devils from Redmond(M$) would have been footing the bill.

So lets not worry that GK is spending our cash to go on a jolly. I think by networking as such will help the cause of the Shrimpers.

I always believe if you want to make a difference about something then you need to be on the inside.

That would be a moral dilemna. Every time I speak to a big club supporter I moan about them buying success. What if a big money invester came into the blues? What would I say?
