SUFC Annual Accounts now out ...

Mick

Life President
At last they are now a professional glossy magazine style as opposed to the amateurish tat previously adopted. Hmmm ... perhaps they are trying to hide something; must read it more closely than usual.

Here's a mistake. Oh no, it's right after all, they really are for the 2005-6 period :) .

Got mine today being a shareholder and all that, but what do all those numbers actually mean about the financial health or otherwise of the club.Accountants please reply.

Good reading?

Not especially. As I said, a glossy, coloured brochure. Would have benefited from a bit of decent proof reading. Not least in the accounts area where the pages referenced don't tie up to the actual page numbers. The auditors' statement refers to our loss; we made a small profit. Use of commas, apostrophes and, in some cases, grammar is a bit wayward. That's being a bit picky, but it's easier to look at the superficial stuff, when, by the time we get it, the financial information is out of date.

So whats the numbers then??????/

Profit of £191,550 on a turnover of £3.74 million. Due primarily to write off of rent and release of loan of £1.57 million by SEL Ltd.

Wages up £2.5 million from £1.9 million.

Admin costs up £1.37 million from £0.89 million.

crowds up (we knew that !)

That's the P & L stuff.

From the balance sheet, we had at that time (31/6/06) £6.6 million owed to creditors and falling due within one year. This included 1.3 million tax etc and a further £1.6 million due to parent company SEL (to be written off next year??). Additionally we owed Mezcal a million. (Mezcal as I'm sure you all remember, as well as being a very potent Mexican spirit, is an investment company owning 50% of SEL Ltd.).

Directors' shareholdings unchanged.

A six month delay between the publishing of the accounts and the AGM......Even by SUFC's poor standards in the past that must be some sort of a record.

Any profit for a club our size is most welcomed.

You have to give Ron credit, hes sorted this club right out. Top man, long may it continue.

Thats what we know about Lee, granted things look good but we as supporters may never really know the true state! but we just have to have faith! :)

As a trust we told the club about this several times, I just think they were trying to hold out for some good news to make the AGM worth more. perhaps?
