Being is we like to have the odd gimmick - Terry Alderton, Tart Announcer etc how about having a vote who you want subbed at half time (like I'm a Celebrity get me out of here) - every player has his own phone number and everyone votes who that want subbed and replaced with. To add a bit of spice the player subbed has to do some sort of BushTucker type trial during the interval.... this way we cant blame Tilly for leaving his subs too late

everyone in the crowds think they can do better and the fans can play an even bigger part in the game rather than the chanting for who they want bought on , much more interactive- think the money the club could make extra from the cost of the texts!
