I think anyone accused or charged with such crimes should remain anonymous until convicted.

He may well be guilty but these sort of allegations ruin lives.
 
It's interesting to see how the media are reporting Stuart Hall's, Freddie Starr's and Jim Davidson's cases in comparison to how they are reporting Julian Assange's.

To answer both your posts the reason names have been named here is to satiate the needs of the media and to an extent the public, following the ill-kept secret of Jimmy Savile's foibles. These B-Z list celeb's have been named as sacrificial lambs to protect the truly guilty, who will be kept out of this due to their high-connections, and use of litigation.

That said if he is a sex case then maybe its better that there is some public awareness of this. Wouldnt want my Nan going for a date with Stuart Hall at the moment given what he is meant to have done.

IF he is a sex case, then yes. At the moment he's merely an alleged sex case, and therefore I'm with MC. He should remain anonymous until such time as he's found guilty.

Do you know the funny thing about abuse is that the abuser also ruins the lifes of those abused and the familys invloved, he will get a chance to clear his name but will all the victums get thier lifes back,i doubt it.

You never really clear your name when something like this is thrown at you. Mud sticks, just tell that to the bloke who had his pediatrician business smashed up in Portsmouth when the NOTW started their campaign.
If he is guilty then throw the book at him but if he isn't all you have done is label a old man wrongly and probably sent him to a early grave. Innocent until proved guilty in this land and long may it continue.

Seriously? You think that whilst under investigation someone would carry on abusing?

Tell you what, why not just shoot someone as soon as they're accused? The guilty wont be able to re-offend, and the innocent? Well there life will be ****ed anyway
 
If he is found guilty, I do hope he's not the scapegoat for the whole of the Savile saga just cos he's still alive and Savile isn't.
