Who should start up front on Saturday?

I'd like us to go back to the standard 4-4-2. And an attacking one against the likes of Morecambe. 4-5-1 will be no good against this lot, who I'm pretty sure will come here and park the proverbial bus. Perhaps Timlin can make way in the 2nd half if we are struggling to break them down and move to a 4-3-3 with Corr or Sturrock coming on for a more direct approach.

Spencer Pato
Hall Timlin Grant Simpson
Gilbert Barker Mohsni Clohessy
Morris

I really dont get all the fuss about Paterson and Spencer at the moment.

Ok, Paterson scored two against Bristol City but in the league he's looked knackered and lazy. He doesn't chase down the same as Sturrock and Corr and he isn't strong enough.

Spencer has shown glimpses last season, he has good pace and I would like to see him get so more minutes as a sub against tired legs.

But for the time being I'd stick with Corr and Sturrock.

Morris

Clohessy Barker Mohsni Gilbert

Simpson Timlin Grant Hall

Corr Sturrock

No fuss from me mate.

I just feel that none of the other chaps up top have made much of an impact. All well and good having lumps up top that are told to hold it up and knock it on, bringing others into play. But if they are either not doing that or the runners meant to be feeding off them are not on the same wavelength, then what's the point?

I just feel against the likes of Morecambe we need a more diverse attacking option, rather than hoof and hold. I think Spencer and Pato will give us that....

But that's my opinion.

I definitely want to see Paterson and Spencer given a start. Corr and Sturrock have failed spectacularly, time for the youngsters to show us what they can do.

If I have to watch Corr and Sturrock together or Sturrock on his own again up front I fear I will be close to suicidal.:stunned:

Prefer a decent striker but in the absence of that Sturrock on his own in the 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 formation.

Not to sure about the highlighted but I do agree that Spencer and Patto should be given a run.

My preference is ANYONE AND SPENCER! Probably Corr or Sturrock not Patto and Spencer.

I'd go 4-4-2 too, as I'd go 4-4-2 every week no matter what. But Sturrock looks set to keep the same formation so I'd suggest that he'll go with Corr up front with Soares and Hall in the wide positions.

The plan for the midfield to play off Blair and feed the wingers, will work very well with a player who can get inside the area and behind the defence. If this happened at Northampton, Spencer would of had a hatrick against their awful defence (Maybe a bit strong).

For me, with the strikers we have at our disposal, it has to be Corr(if fit) and Paterson. Sturrock is useless up there on his own and Paterson is just as bad as a winger. So if Paterson is sub again, I just hope he comes on as striker for a change.

Interesting, I feel that Corr and Sturrock have not proved to be goal 'scorers'. Hall and especially Soares have failed as 'wingers', so what do we do?

Got to be 4-4-2, got to be a combination of one of each of Blair/Sturrock and Pato/Spencer surely?

Agreed! I presume you mean Blair/Spencer.

Well whatever happens up top I think it is time for Soares to be benched. I think Hall and Simpson would be the better options out wide.

Lots of differing opinons however, I think we all realise that we certainly need to change it! We are at home v Morecombe, we have to have two up front. For me:

Morris
Clohessy Bilel Barker Gilbert
Simpson Grant Timlin Hall
Corr Paterson

Soares definitely on the bench!

That's how I see it as well, especially ditching Soares the passenger.

how about the new guy we have on loan from swindon, Michael Timlin I believe?

Sorry wrote this before reading a single post, I thought Timlin was a striker, not midfield? hmmm
