Strikers- points earnt

Leading on from my research yesterday inverstigating our strikers, I thought today I would look at how many points our individual strikers have earnt. I do this by looking at results where they have scored, checking how many points we would have had without their goal(s), and how many points they have earnt us.

Lee Barnard- Walsall away (0 points). Hereford home (3 points). Leyton Orient home (0 points). Yeovil away (2 points). Stockport home (1 point). Has earnt us- 6 points.

James Walker- Oldham home (0 points). Leyton Orient away (1 point). Has earnt us- 1 point.

Alex Revell- Millwall away (1 point). Swindon home (2 points). Tranmere away (1 point). Stockport away (0 points). Has earnt us 4 points.

Dougie Freedman- Carlisle away (0 points). Crewe away (3 points). Leyton Orient home (0 points). Has earnt us 3 points.

Francis Laurent- Swindon home (2 points). Bristol Rovers away (0 points). Colchester home (1 point). Has earnt us 3 points.


Again it's all just a bit of fun, but it would hint Barnards goals have been most vital.

Having poo pood yesterdays statistics, I feel I have to do the same today. A striker can't score on his own, he would need a contribution from his team mates, so you can't really say a striker earned us the points.

You should also bear in mind he may have missed goals which would have earned points if he scored and if he had not played, another player would have been in his place and possibly scored more so you could say the striker in question cost us points.

Just one more thing – haven’t you got anything to do? .
