I spoke to Tilson yesturday in a drunken state from what I can remember he said he is confident of landing whats his face from Cork City

Scott, I'd only ever doubt your word if it was based on info you gained "in a drunken state"... which means I don't think I've ever had the chance to believe what you're saying.

Are you saying Tilly was drunk at the MTB Day?!?

Anyway, it's not like he'd say much else is it? Can't imagine him saying to the fans, "Nah, we got no chance of getting him but it keeps the fans happy that we put in the bid."

No Tilson was not drunk! I was though to my shame! :fury:

It seems there's conflicting reports on this as he told a friend of mine that Cork didn't want to let him go until october (when their season is over) so they've given up on him. Obviously, this is just hear'say.

Eur800,000

According to today's 'The Mirror' there are now three alternatives to whether O'Donovan goes or stays.
1. He stays and sees out his contract. I believe this runs out in November and he can then leave for 240,000 euros.
2. He leaves this week.
3. Sale and leaseback arrangement - taking money from either us, Fulham, Watford or Hull. O'Donovan then completes the season with Cork.

Cork's manager says a decision will be made in the next 48 hours.

The fee is 400,000 euros up front with another 400,000 euros to come. (In total over £500,000.)

O'Donovan is currently injured (hamstring) and yesterday Cork were poor without him.

More paper talk

The Sunday Mirror - O'Donovan expected to join Fulham in initial 425,000 euros deal this week. City's manager Damien Richardson said "... I don't think the level Southend play at is better than ours. He'd be better staying here in that situation."

Richardson would say that. He'll get to play against the likes of Leeds & Nottingham Forest if he comes here. That's clearly a higher standard than the pub teams in Cork's league.

Yeah I saw that comment on Sky Sports yesterday about Southend being the same level in football as Cork. Didnt know how to take it really. Obscurity in some Southern Irish League or playing for a club that are one of 92 clubs that make up the best league in the world ? Corks average attendance is less than 3k compared to our 10k last season. Me thinks this Richardson is a hickdead. :guns:

The bloke sounds a complete prick... If Southend United played Cork City tomorrow we would be taking about 5 or 6 nil to us.... we are over 3 times their size in support and have a MASSIVE potential here in South Essex... lot more Fulham tbh... London has too many big teams.. and they have a lot smaller catchmeant area compared to us

Teams like Braintree town and Chelmsford city would give Cork City a run for there money......
