Was watching the scottish cup game yesterday Dunfermline v Rangers and Dunfermlines Jim Hamilton was outstanding he scored one and won every header that was put up to him the Rangers center halfs were outclassed by his aerial ability.
It was the best old fashioned center forward play i have seen in ages.
Did anyone else see this game and his performance a player like this would be a superb foil for Freddy and a great threat from set plays.
He may be 30 yrs old but what a performance.
And with our current fixation with Scotland then why not have a look.

I think Jim Hamilton is a bit overrated, however, he does score the occasional cracker:

Hers one for Siak, why are Motherwell calling Celtic 'the scum'?

Sorry, not Southend related, but a passing question of interest

I think hes the one for us to go for im sure we would be able to tempt him dont think hed be too expensive and he is experianced and as you can see can score with his feet too!

Don't have a clue I'm afraid, I think Richard (GlasgowSUFC) would be the better person to ask.

Purely because of Scottish football's hatred to either of the old-firm.

Face it, most of the time Motherwell's ground is sold out is when Celtic & Rangers come calling. They even move you from your designated season-ticket seat to accommodate the away fans. It would be like if West Ham were in the Championship and everybody got turfed out of the East Stand.

It's also akin to when West Ham tried their shop in Southend. We didn't like it (and still don't when we see West Ham or Arsenal shirts wandering around SE Essex), the vast majority of people in towns like Motherwell, Kilmarnock, Paisley, Falkirk etc couldn't give a monkeys about their local team and follow Celtic or Rangers (depending on their family background, upbringing etc)

Plus, the old-firm tend to cherrypick these kind of teams best talent, e.g. Stephen Pearson from Motherwell a few years ago, who Celtic picked up for less than a million as he was soon to be out of contract & would have walked for nothing. Also this is why Celtic were told £1.5m+ when they enquired about Stevie Hammell (yes, Hammell fans this is 100% true) a couple of seasons back.

Hope that helps your question Shrimperman!

have you ever watched Paynter play?? I don't think anyone has knocked Paynter for a lack of effort, just hasn't clicked with the team and really made a decent contribution to the team yet! but at least when I have seen him he has given 100%
