The Business
Was out with a few mates from South London a few nights ago and we got talking about birds as you do.

Anyway one of my mates was getting texts from his best mates ex-fiance. Now these texts got more and more lude until such point she was telling him what she wanted him to do to her.She was engaged to my mates mate but he broke it off.

Now for me personally once my mate had been there and had a relationship with her you as his mate cant then go and snake his ex. I just think it shows a bit of a lack of thought for you mate.

However the South Londoners seemed to think all was game if he is not with her anymore.

What do you reckon. ?

ex-fiance is probably too far.. if it was a short-term relationship then its game on IMO, and most of my mates opinions, there are quite a few birds (slags) that many of us have had a bit off... but if it was a proper serious relationship then i wouldn't go near it

also if he broke of the engagement maybe she is just doing this as payback?

I have a friend who stirred his mate's porridge quite recently. I think it depends on the circumstances in all honesty. If everyone is ok with the situation, then no harm done.

The difficult situation arises when the mate says he is ok about it but secretly is not. Or alternatively the arrogance of the second person, undermining the first person.

Got to be a strict no in this case, given the engagement. I think your mate would have the right to absolutely batter his "best mate" too for going behind his back. Strict contravention of the bloke code going on here if you ask me.

I agree....If it was my long term ex and one of my mates was getting hold of her I think I would kill him....

My first love dumped one of my mates to go out with me then ditched me 5 years later (while we were engaged) to go out with a mate of mine who was supposed to be one of our Ushers!

A lucky escape.......

Also, my best mate's bird was having trouble with him so sought solace with me. A nice time was had by all, but I think looking back she just did it to try and stop his friendship with me. When she confessed what the 2 of us had got up to, he chucked her out and took me down the pub!

I lost my v plates to the cs crew's bike many years ago but fortunately i was at the front end of the conveyor belt however certain others are still risking having a trip to the clinic only a few weeks ago !!!!!

If your mate broke it off then he should not be overly concerned who is getting hold of it...its over, both are back in circulation

getting hold of a mates bird if she broke it off is a touchier subject and would depend on whether the mate is over her

Getting hold of a mates bird when neither of them have broken it off is a definate no

As for stirring a mates custard/ porridge, given my understanding of the phrase , I would say that ws a no go unless it was a definate one nighter for all concerned

Depends on the circumstances, and how recent it was. One of my best mates (let's call him A) went out with a girl for a couple of years. He then called the relationship a day. About six months later, another mate of ours (B) started dating her.

Initially, A was royally f***ed off with B - mostly for not fronting up about the relationship. I think, however, that A & B went out one night, got very drunk, had a bit of a rant about the situation, and cleared the air.

A & B are happily now still very good mates. Interestingly, the bird in question then went on to marry B - so perhaps you could say that it all turned out well in the end.

And that's why stirring former custard sometimes works, and sometimes can be very difficult. As another parallel, in my first year of uni, I "followed on" not once but twice from a mate of mine, with birds he was dating.

I think he was probably p*ssed off for a day or two, but ultimately, since he'd only been dating the birds in question for at best a couple of months, he got over it pretty quickly. I certainly didn't feel too bad about it, for sure!

Yeah I'd say that its ok as long as your mate was only with the said girl for a short period of time. Anything beyond that and people start getting attached and the whole thing becomes a lot more complicated. I think even if you think you're over a girl, the thought of one of your mates with her when you were engaged would still be wrong.

Always knew South Londoners had something missing up top..why else would you follow Palace.

In all seriousness, it would depends on the girl, the likelihood of it going any further than a one nighter, how much you value your friendship with the ex fella, how likely he would be to rip your head off and spit down the hole etc etc.

I'd say that having been engaged is a step too far, but then I've heard many stories of such that seem to end up well in the end.....such a quandary!!

p.s. DtS - may I commend you on a worthy return to form!! Last friday just wasn't the same without the obligatory DtS friday thread!!!

I am pleased to have kept you happy.

Don't know about you lot but for me there is something a little unsettling about knowing your best mate has dipped his wick in the very place your about to dip yours
