Stevenage's ex-Shrimpers at Wembley

Watching the FA Trophy Final from Wembley on TV, didn't realise Stevenage had so many people involved who once pulled on the hallowed Southend shirt.

Mark Stimson - manager of Stevenage who was with us for two or three seasons, often injured though. Good left foot but no Chris Powell.

Mark Beard - seeing that weedy, talentless runt running around like a headless chicken on the Wembley turf brings back horrible, horrible memories.

Ronnie Henry - had a loan spell with us in 2003. When I was living in Southampton I remember watching us play at Bournemouth, I thought he was absolute cack, along with the half a dozen other loanees we had at the time.

Adam Miller - was a youth player at Southend in the late nineties, not sure if he ever made a first team appearance. He played at Canvey for a while IIRC.

Mitchell Cole - plenty of talent, pace, potential etc... the match against Kidderminster is 19 minutes old so he should receive a crunching tackle and hobble off any minute now...

Thought Mitchell was the best player out there.

Clearly Stimson has the midas touch with him as he's got him fit and hungry again. He ran his bollocks off and is clearly too good for that level. I have a feeling that in 12 months time, for Kightly, read Cole.

Can't wait to hear all the news from Julie on Monday, she was really looking forward to the big day at the new wembley stadium!!

Went to game. Cole worked really hard for Boro. Their other scorers, Morison and, particularly, Dobson looked the part. All three really showed how poor the Roots Hall strikers (bar Freddy) have been this season.

Really wish Mitchell Cole had been given more of a chance. I always thought he would have a bit of talent, looked quite lively the games he played. But again injury messed up his career!
