Steve Bruce

To be honest I think Bruce is an excellent manager... he is quietly working wonders at the JJB

This bit puzzled me, about Mike Ashley
' "Especially with him being a Tottenham supporter and then going up to Newcastle, a club that is a different kettle of fish to most in the land."

So say one of us bought another league 1 side say Tranmere. Would you stand in the Tranmere end wearing a Tranmere top. I no I for one wouldn't

No I wouldn't either, obviously done for the press attention and to seem a down to earth guy, what a twot.

Don't get me wrong, I think Bruce is doing a stellar job at an unfashionable club but I think Whelan has a habit of waxing too lyrical about his gaffers. I seem to recall him using similar superlatives about Paul Jewell not so long ago.

an interesting quote from Wigan chairman Dave Whelan:

"One day he (Steve Bruce) will get a big-four job - I realise that, and I think the whole country realises he is one of the best four managers in the world."

has the JJB supremo been at the crack pipe? :stunned:

When he hints at him getting a top four job, the only one I can see him at is United with his United links.

Bruce has done a fantastic job at Wigan, when he went there last season they where doomed and playing awful, but his brought in the likes of Zaki to partner Heskey which is looking like an excellent strike force.

I tell you what they need to sign that Zaki he is a cracking player and has scored a shed load of goals for them already. Bruce has done a sterling job at Wigan but look at his previous history he hasn't gone too badly at the other clubs he has been at. In regards to being a manager of one of the top 4. It would only be Manchester United, and now with Hughes at City it would be between him and Ince out of the SAF era to take his place!

I reckon Royston Keane may have something to say about that.

I do apologise Paul I totally forgot about him. Well looks like he would be the obvious choice forget Ince and change it to Keane instead lol.

His team is coming up trumps! Cattermole, Valencia, Taylor, Palacios, Heskey, Figueroa, Koumas, Zaki, , De Ridder and Kapo.
