Im bored
Heres a starting 11 of signed players if the season started tomorrow...discuss....change...be interesting to see how it differs when season actually begins.

,...............smith........
Demetriou Barrett Thompson. Coker
Maglashlin. Lenny. Wordsworth. Mcgoughlin
........................Mooney. Ranger

Quite like that, only question is whether Timlin would add a bit more steel , as opposed to Wordsworths luxury lurking about

Oxley
White, Thompson, Barrett
Demetriou, Lenny, Wordsworth, Timlin, Coker
McGlashan, Ranger

Wing backs for me, with McGlashan playing a roving role to support the wing backs, Woody as more of a 10 in an advanced role and Lenny also making late runs from deep.

I love a 3 5 2 if done right i strongly believe its the best formation...... All about the wing backs.

Indeed, even though the squad does need more depth in my opinion, there is also a pretty strong bench of : Smith, White, Atkinson, Mooney, O'Neil, Bridge, Williams

Got to be wing backs, and a back 3. Thomson and Barrett in a back four means we will conceed almost and many goals as Colchester did last season.

I think with the personal we have with Barrett being slower than a UK government exercising article 50, we need that extra cover. Also Coker and Demetriou would relish the wing back role (with O'Neill and McLoughlin as back up), and it would also allow White to do what he does best, which is defend. Would also give the option of going back to 4 at the back if need be.

In front of that, though I dont have a clue.

Which Williams is that? Jordan looked the far better of the two on Tuesday.

I love your positive thinking but if thats is a 'strong bench' you are easily impressed

Haha - yes I am staying positive and am very excited to see the Team in action this season having lived in the States for the last 5 years.

In fairness, I did say 'pretty' strong as there is still plenty of room for improvement.

That is not a strong bench in any shape or form - need at least another five signings IMO and then the usual two or three loan players to top up. Thread bare at the moment and season almost upon us. So much for training together pre season - not ideal this.

Murray and Ranger up front?

Didn't the OP ask who would be in your side TOMORROW if the season kicked off? I'm still scanning news for confirmations on either of these two....

No it's not ideal at all - but personally I think that there is a strong core to that bench in Smith, White, Atkinson, Mooney and O'Neil.

I agree that we do need more signings but I think the additional 8 that you suggest will be too many.

I'd personally like to see 2 more experienced CBs in pretty damned quick, plus 2 more forwards.

Bridge and Williams are now at an age where I think they should now either step up or you have to question whether they will have a long-term career in Football.

Anyway, it's sunny outside, I am about to buy three Season Tickets for my family so I will try and stay positive.
