Stan's goals

DTS

The Business
O Stanley Stanley !!

Due to all this nostalgia decided to dig out this gem. Some classic Stan strikes.

Nice to see everyone favourite w%&ker Chris "Southend to be relegated" Waddle being mugged by Stan.If only he had managed to leave one of his fists out for Waddle to run into this would have been my perfect goal.

Hopefully Stan will read this,do the right thing and sign for the Blues. ( Fingers Crossed)

I love that last one against Newcastle. Love it, just love it when you see Keegan afterwards

Stans goals - can anyone remember them all?

Notts Co (2) - first one after about 4 mins from Eagle's cross, 2nd one second half from John Cornwall's (?) long ball over the top and outpaced the defence
Barnsley (2) - two cracking finishes, one he picks up just inside the area, the other from just outside the box(?)
Bristol Rovers (A) - rounds keeper/keeper does a Paul Robinson and walks it in in the last minute
Millwall (FA Cup) - powerful shot under Kasey Keller
Huddersfield (FA Cup) (2) - vote goal no.7! can't believe it didn't win goal of the month. fantastic goal after run and shot from Chrissy P's pass near the half way line. First one weren't shabby either
Birmingham - tap in from a free-kick in a 4-0 rout
Brentford - turns his man in the centre-circle and runs half the pitch, rounds the keeper and taps in
Oxford (A) - jinks past a couple and a fantastic shot from edge of box
Millwall - fantastic solo effort from half way line, Colin Cooper just falls over and I can still hear the late Brian Moore growling "and still Collymore"
Sunderland (A) - his only header, from a ooh Andy Ansah cross after the first effort wasn't properly cleared
Bristol Rovers (2) - two of the best goals ever. Sublime.

I seem to be 3 goals short. Did he get the only goal against Grimsby? Did he score in the away defeats at Leicester or Barnsley. Seem to think Brettie Angell got a tap in against Barnsley, so maybe it was Leicester.
Was it 2 v Brentford? I know Ansah got at least one, possibly two that day.

It might be because I have the video, but I remember that season about as well as any. Cheers for the memories Stan.

Leicester away was a tap in from Brett Angell..

Think one was Grimsby as you stated and think he scored a hlaf volley up at Barnsley

He scored at home to Grimsby in the 1-0 win, also scored away at Cambridge the following week in a 3-1 defeat. Ah, he also scored in the 3-1 defeat away at Barnsley.

Was the away defeat to Cambridge not John Cornwall with a top corner rocket.

Cambridge was definitely John Cornwall.

Brett Angell's goal was a very measured tap in from all of a yard, can't remember against who though.

Not according to Robin Michels database

It was Stanleyesque, but it definitely wasn't Stan. It was an absolute corker from about 30 yards by John Cornwall. One of the best hits I've seen.

Robin's site also seems to list 19 goals that season for Stan.

Didnt score against West Scum but did all the work to set up the goal from Angell that was just as important as any of the goals he scored.
