I went to a charity football match yesterday at stambridge utd's ground and at half time the announcer said that there was a friendly there against a southend utd xi. Prob will just be youth players tho.

Couldn't find anything on their website, anyone got an official line of confirmation from Stambridge?

The game is on tomorrow night, Stambridge's first team will be facing Southend United's under 16's team. Nice venue Stambridge are one of the oldest clubs in Essex (founded in 1888) good little club house, and a ground worth a visit if you can get over there.

Final score was Stambridge 2 Southend United 4. A very young Shrimpers team did well against Olympian league opponents and could have won by a far greater margin. Enjoyable game.
