Other than the gaping hole in left-midfield and the lack of quality in right midfield we look to have enough bodies.

Yes that is strange. I don't think we are getting anyone in but perhaps there's a possibility that they were trying to get someone in before the deadline and they are awaiting FA confirmation as to whether it can go through?

A striker or a right winger then, neither of whom use their left foot for anything other than standing on and both of which have had poor to inconsistent seasons in their natural positions. The problem is, we're crying out for some balance on the left, at least a right footed out and out left sided player ala Gower or Stanislas.

Bournemouth have posted on their site that they're basically using the rules that have been set regarding the weather and Premier League clubs. Not that I think we're waiting for any kind of arrival though, unfortunately.

I still remain optimistic as I'm sure there wouldve been some comment on the OS, even if only along the lines of "We tried for 2 or 3 players but couldnt affotd wages, etc".

Out of the current lot Walker would be the best option for the left-wing however he is injured. In any case out of all the players in the squad (other than maybe the injury prone Barnard and Freedman) Walker would probably be near the top of my list to make sure we have a viable alternative for. The type of player he is means there will be spells when things don't go for him, his confidence drops and we need to try a different option off the bench.


As for the right-wing, I doubt Betsy is the answer, unless the question is why are we so ineffective down the right-hand side. He certainly isn't a viable option to provide width down the left. He'd be more effective with Francis at full-back instead of Sankofa, but we can't trust Francis defensively.

Bournemouth have posted on their site that they're basically using the rules that have been set regarding the weather and Premier League clubs. Not that I think we're waiting for any kind of arrival though, unfortunately.

I thought that was just Premiership sides, and the Football League Clubs had to complete deals before 5pm?

I'm a touch disappointed we didn't bring anybody in, but the loan window opens soon and I fully expect us to get some people in during then.

We only have to get by the Scunny game if its on and Swindow away then we can get active in the market again.

Left wing we have no real options other than play strikers or central midfielders out of position. If we had one strong winger on either flank I could live with 3 central midfielders but our midfield is far too lacking in creativity or flair.

Well to be honest I never liked having either on the right as they tucked in and gave no width, but one winger is certainly better than having none as we do now...

I thought that but his size might let him down? Probably worth a try, say if we are 2-0 up vs someone at home put him on there for 20 mins or something
