Squad and Injuries

Now that we have Prior, Barrett, Bradbury etc back from injury, and have signed McCormack and Riera on loan I think we aren't in as bad a shape as I thought last night.

I do think we are a bit lightweight up front, and would like to have seen us get in a striker, but now think we have enough players to get us through the next month, when the transfer window re-opens.

But the problem with getting in a striker is we'd either have needed to pay stupid money to get in somebody proven but out of favour or a decent PL prospect who needs 1st team football.  With our financial restrictions (yes, I know the Carling Cup run maybe could have funded short-term somebody but that's not for here and now) we were always going to be up against it.

Shame really that Tilson abides by the code of if a deal doesn't work out we never find out who they enquired about.

I'm sure a list of potential targets, albeit ones that failed to join us would maybe pacify a few angry supporters who feel the current management team don't do enough in the transfer market.

We're OK I think at the moment, just need to hope our bad injury luck leaves us. I also subscribe to the idea that maybe cutting Guttridge out of the squad may well restore some of the famous T&B team-spirit.

Agreed. Getting in a striker is easier said than done...

And when the window does re-open, how is getting another striker in going to be easier, especially with clubs sniffing at Freddy all Jan!

unfortunatley so much depends on where we sit in the table come Jan.I still think if we can stop leaking silly goals then we are strong enough up front at present.

Have to agree to a point. We have Eastwood, Bradders, Hooper and Harrold who i think will be the top 4 strikers scoring. Harrold has already got on the score sheet 3 times i do believe So all positive signs. Once we get our first win , i'm more then sure we will get a run of results together. And then the Shrimperzone will be a happier place to be.
