What's with the endless desire fans seem to have for spending money?
Having read through threads on this site, people seem to be antagonistic towards Tilson for not chucking hundreds of thousands of pounds around, and antagonistic towards the chairman for not writing him a blank cheque. I agree with the general consensus that we need a few more players, but don't see why that means we need bucketloads of cash - the world and his dog is currently available on a free.
Also, Tilson has been given significant money to spend - he's spent more than any Southend manager I can think of since Barry Fry:
Foran £200,000
Revell £150,000
Paynter £150,000+
Bailey £175,000
Barnard / Walker - I'm seem to remember 6 figures being involved in 1 of these deals.
Plus numerous others under £100,000
We splash A LOT of cash for a club our size - and from the list above it doesn't always do us any good. Lay off Tilson and lay off the Chairman who HAS backed Tilson where others wouldn't.
